Alexander is in his fourth season with the Cubs organization after being acquired via trade from San Francisco, July 30, 2021...Suffered a broken left ankle and dislocated left shoulder during a Dominican Winter League game with Aguilas Cibaenas ... required surgery that necessitated placement on Triple-A Iowa's injured list to start the 2023 season...Was traded to the Cubs on July 30, 2021, along with Caleb Kilian from the San Francisco Giants for Kris Bryant...The Monte Cristi, D.R., native was added to the Giants' 40-man roster, Nov. 21, 2020...Enters the 2024 season ranked as the Cubs' 12th-best prospect by MLB Pipeline...Owns a career .264 average (455-for-1,724) with 103 doubles, 15 triples, 91 home runs and 319 RBI with 76 stolen bases over 455 minor league games...Was a Baseball America DSL All-Star in 2017 ... earned Short-Season All-Star, Northwest League Post-Season All-Star and MiLB.com Organizational All-Star honors in 2019 and 2022 ... was named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2022...Began his career as a right fielder, before playing center field in 2018 ... split time at all three outfield positions in 2021.

2023

Alexander made his Major League debut Sept. 6, 2023, against San Francisco, entering the game as a pinch hitter...He hit .294 (5-for-17) with a double, a triple, a home run, six RBI and a .647 slugging percentage in six games with the Cubs this season...In 46 games combined between Rookie League Mesa, High-A South Bend and Triple-A Iowa, he hit .272 (50-for184) with 143 doubles, eight home runs, 42 RBI and a .348 on-base percentage...Activated off Iowa's IL on July 5 and assigned to High-A South Bend...Tallied his first career hit (double), his first career RBI (five total in the game) and first career home run (grand slam) in his first career start Sept. 19 vs. Pittsburgh...Per OPTA Stats, Alexander became the first player in MLB history (since RBI became an official stat in 1920) to hit a grand slam and drive in five-plus runs in his first career start...He is the only Cub to hit a grand slam in his first career start (since 1901)...He became the fourth Cub in the last 50 seasons, and 14th all-time, to his a grand slam for his first career home run...Recorded three hits, including his first career triple, Sept. 30 at Milwaukee. 

2022

Alexander spent time with Single-A South Bend (24 games), Double-A Tennessee (81 games) and Triple-A Iowa (20 games) during the 2022 campaign... Hit .252 (117-for-464) with 26 doubles, two triples, 37 home runs, 97 RBI and 23 stolen bases across all three levels ... he combined for a .556 slugging percentage and .899 OPS... Set single-season career-highs in hits, runs (84), doubles, home runs, RBI, walks (59) and stolen bases... Notched his first three-homer game Sept. 20 with Iowa, going 3-for-5 with four RBI... Named an MiLB Organization All-Star for 2022, his second time receiving the honors (also 2019 with San Francisco)... Earned Midwest League Player of the Week honors for the week of April 25-May 1... hit .500 (13-for-26) with one double, four home runs, nine RBI, a .536 OBP and 1.000 slugging percentage in six games... Was ranked the Cubs ninth-best prospect by MLB Pipeline at the end of the season... Underwent surgeries in early November to repair a broken ankle and dislocated shoulder, injuries suffered during the Dominican Winter League season. 

2021

Appeared in 107 games with Single-A San Jose (S.F.) and High-A South Bend in 2021, setting single-season career marks in hits (94), runs (62), home runs (18), RBI (57), stolen bases (21) and walks (43)... Hit .275 (28-for-102) with five doubles, six homers and 19 RBI during August, his first month in the Cubs organization... Homered in four-straight games from Aug. 7-11 ... homered twice with six RBI on Aug. 24.

2020

Did not play due to the COVID-19 pandemic but was a member of the Giants 60-man Player Pool from the beginning of the restarted Summer Camp...spent the season at the Alternate Training site before participating in the Fall Instructional League in Arizona...Suffered a dislocated left shoulder during the final week of Instructional League...underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum performed by Dr. Ken Akizuki. 

2019

Spent the 2019 season between the Arizona League and Short-Season Salem-Keizer, where he was nearly two years younger than the average player. He combined for a slash line of .318/.377/.623 over 59 games with 16 home runs and 54 RBI.
