Dauri Moretta (pronounced DOW-ree mo-RETTA)... Adopted the nickname "Big Bank" and "Money Moreta" during the 2023 season...When he comes out of a game, he brings both hands parallel to his face and rubs his thumb, index finger and middle finger together with his non-glove hand...The gesture, of course, is the universal sign for ¡°money.¡±... Enjoys playing chess...He learned how to play in grade school, but really started taking it seriously when playing against Joey Votto while they were teammates with the Reds...He says he has never beat Joey... His favorite players growing up were Pedro Martinez and Justin Verlander.
