Kyle Dillion Hurt…parents Tania and Kevin…Has one brother, Kevin…His father played football at Ole Miss, and his grandfather played football at the University of Tampa and one year in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins…During his time at Torrey Pines High School, the Ranch Santa Fe, Calif., native earned Under Armor and Perfect Game All-American honors in 2016 and earned was named to the All-CIF second team as a junior and senior…At USC, the Trojan produced a 9-13 record with a 5.06 ERA (97ER/172.2 IP) and 170 strikeouts against 107 walks… Birthdate is May 30, 1998.

2023

Spent a majority of the season with Double-A Tulsa (19 G, 15 GS) before being called up Triple-A Oklahoma City on Aug. 2 (7 G, 1 GS) and got called up to the Majors on Sept. 9 for one appearance (2.0 IP, 3 K)... He garnered a combined 4-4 record and a 3.91 ERA (40 ER/92.0 IP) in 26 games across the Minor Leagues... With Double-A Tulsa, notched a 2-3 record with a 4.15 ERA (30 ER/65.0 IP) in 19 games (15 starts), including 110 strikeouts and limited the opposition to a .205 batting average... He was called up to the Major Leagues on Sept. 9 and made his debut that night against the Padres…Tossed 2.0 scoreless innings of relief and struck out three, all of which came in the ninth inning when he struck out the side. He earned his first big league strikeout against Garrett Cooper on Sept. 9... After his short one-game stint with the big club, he was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where registered a 2-1 record with a 3.33 ERA (10 ER/27.0 IP) in seven games (one start)… sat down 42 batters and held batters to a .198/.312/.369 slashline... Posted a season-high 11 strikeouts on June 23 for Double-A Tusla against the Northwest Arkansas... He faced one batter in a Spring Training appearance against the Angels on March 28, striking out Jordyn Adams He made the start for game 1 of the PCL Championship series against the Round Rock Express, tossing 4.0 innings, giving up two hits, one run and three walks while striking out a Triple-A season-high eight in the no decision.

The California native saw two promotions, splitting time between Advanced-A Great Lakes and Double-A Tulsa...With Advanced-A Great Lakes, he posted a 4-2 record over 13 games (11 starts) with a 2.21 ERA (10 ER/40.2 IP) paired with 64 strikeouts…kept hitters to a .151 average...In 12 games (eight starts) with Double-A Tulsa, he went 1-5 with a 9.29 ERA (32 ER/31.0 IP) and 45 strikeouts against 37 walks...Earned his first win in Rookie ball on May 15, 2022, against the Captains, pitching in relief for 2.0 innings while giving up, one hit and one run while striking out four...Made his Double-A debut on July 6, 2022, against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, tossing 3.0 innings, giving up five hits, six runs and five walks while striking out three in the loss...He earned his first Double-A win on Aug. 10 against the Midland Rockhounds, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and one walk while striking out a season-high nine...Was effective against both right-handed and left-handed batters, holding them to .169 and .129 average respectively...He posted a 13.69 K/9 and held batters a .212/.364/.288/.652 slashline...Opponents hit just .148 with runners in scoring position. Hurt started his professional career with the Rookie-Level ACL Dodgers before getting promoted to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga...In four games with the Rookie-Level club, he made four appearances (three starts) and posted a 1-0 record with 5.79 ERA (3 ER/4.2 IP) and eight strikeouts...Earned his first professional win on July 24, 2021, against the Rookie-Level ACL White Sox, tossing a scoreless inning of relief, allowing just one hit while striking out two...Recorded his first professional strikeout on July 16, 2021, against the ACL Giants, punching out Adrian Sugastey looking...With Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, he went 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA (10 ER.16.1 IP) and 28 strikeouts against 10 walks tossing 3.0 innings of relief, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out five...The Miami Marlins traded Hurt along with left-hander Alex Vesia to Los Angeles Dodgers for Dylan Floro on Feb. 12, 2021...He produced his best start of the season on Sept. 15, 2021, against the Visalia Rawhide, tossing a season-high 3.1 hitless innings, giving up one walk while punching out a season-best six.
