The Chicago White Sox announced cumulative charitable donations of nearly $1.5 million in the past year. Donations include $777,000 in grants to 30 Chicagoland non-profit organizations through the White Sox Community Fund (WSCF), a McCormick Foundation Fund. Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) awarded additional grants totaling $125,000 to 7 agencies providing services throughout the community. In addition, Sox Give, an employee driven program, awarded $70,000 to 12 different agencies.
CWSC also committed donations totaling over $550,000 to fund the White Sox urban youth baseball initiatives - including the highly regarded Amateur City Elite (ACE) and White Sox Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) programs. Additionally, CWSC funded non-profit organizations such as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and the Jackie Robinson Foundation. This year's grant donations, coupled with other miscellaneous donations, move the team's total philanthropic giving to more than $47 million.
