Athletics announce Opening Day roster

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics selected infielder Max Muncy from Single-A Lansing and placed five players on the injured list to set their Opening Day roster, the club announced today. Left-handed pitcher Brady Basso was placed on the 15-day IL with a strained left shoulder, right-handed pitcher Michel Ota?ez was placed on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder sprain, left-handed pitcher Ken Waldichuk was placed on the 60-day IL as he continues his recovery from “Tommy John” surgery, infielder Zack Gelof was placed on the 10-day IL following right hamate surgery and infielder Brett Harris was placed on the 10-day IL with a strained left oblique. Harris was added to the IL retroactive to March 24 and the other four were added retroactive to yesterday.
