Angels agree to extension with general manager Perry Minasian
ANAHEIM ¨C The Angels announced today that they have agreed to an extension with General Manager Perry Minasian, keeping him with the Club through the 2026 season.
¡°Over the last four years, Perry and his baseball operations staff have begun to lay the foundation for a bright future of Angels Baseball,¡± said Angels Owner Arte Moreno. ¡°We have been impressed by the steps Perry has taken to infuse our Major League team with young and exciting talent while also revamping our player development process. We believe this extension will allow him to continue the vision of building sustainable success throughout the Angels Organization and deliver a championship for our fans.¡±
¡°I am incredibly thankful to Arte and Carole Moreno for their continued trust and support,¡± Minasian said. ¡°I would also like to thank John Carpino for the tremendous working relationship we have developed over the last four years and I look forward to continuing our plans of bringing the Angels back to being a consistent championship contender.¡±
Minasian became the 13th General Manager in Angels history when he was hired on Nov. 12, 2020. During his tenure, Minasian¡¯s acquisitions and drafts have produced several Major League contributors, including Zach Neto, Logan O¡¯Hoppe, Ben Joyce, and Nolan Schanuel. The Angels farm system currently features players ranked in the latest MLB Pipeline Top 100, including top pitching prospect Caden Dana and top position player prospect Christian Moore. Under Minasian, the Angels have had the first player from the 2021-23 Drafts make their Major League debuts (2021 - Chase Silseth, 2022 - Zach Neto, and 2023 ¨C Nolan Schanuel).
