BASEBALL ACADEMY SHOWCASE TRYOUT
The Canadian Futures Showcase is a national amateur baseball showcase held each September hosted by the Blue Jays Baseball Academy. The goal is to provide a showcase opportunity for the best amateur baseball players born in Canada, with draft and college eligibility. It acts to centralize the best Canadian baseball players, with the intention of exposing them to as many MLB scouts and college recruiters as possible.
Simply put, the Blue Jays Baseball Academy's intention is to provide a platform that both highlights and markets the high level of amateur baseball talent in this country. Since 2013, 116+ former showcase players have been drafted by Major League Baseball organizations with over 500 receiving college scholarships to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Showcase tryouts are held across Canada to help determine the players selected to participate at the showcase. While it is not mandatory that players attend a tryout in order to be selected to a roster, it is the best way to ensure players are fairly and accurately evaluated.
Cost: $110.00 (plus HST) per participant.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCH HIT & RUN
We*re so excited to bring MLB*s Pitch Hit & Run to your community! It*s a free event for softball and baseball players ages 7 to 14. Your child can showcase their skills and compete against their peers. The best part? The top scorers at the Team Championship earn an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the World Series (Game TBD), with the Pitch, Hit & Run Finals taking place on the same field the day after!
This is a perfect opportunity to let your child feel like a pro as they test out their Major League skills. Here*s how Pitch, Hit & Run works:
- Pitch: Athletes are tested on the accuracy of their throw. They get five attempts to hit the strike zone from a designated pitching line. If any portion of the target is hit, it counts toward the athlete*s total points. Each time they hit the target they receive 50 points, 100 points for a bullseye.
- Hit: Athletes hit the ball off a tee as far as possible. They can adjust the tee to their desired height, and they receive 5 tries. Each ball receives points depending on what zone it lands in -- the score is based off where it lands, not where it rolls.
- Run: Athletes are measured to see how quickly they can run from home to first base. Each participant gets two attempts to run, and their fastest score is recorded.
- Athletes receive an overall score, which determines if they can advance to the Team Championship.
- Winners who go to the Team Championships are put in a pool with other Team Championship winners, and the highest scores receive an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the Finals, which takes place during the MLB World Series.
