Married to Julianne McNamara, gold medalist in gymnastics at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles...Children: Garrett (11/27/93) and Hannah (11/7/97)...Graduated from Hart High School (CA)...Played three seasons for UCLA (1984-86) where he hit .331 with 26 homers and 94 RBI...Was all-Pac in 1986, the same year he captained the Bruins to the conference title...The day he was born (Sept. 9, 1965), Sandy Koufax threw a perfect game.
2004
Closed out a solid Major League career in the season finale against Montreal. Zeile hit nine homers and drove in 35 runs in 348 at-bats, collecting his 200th career hit on Sept. 19 in Pittsburgh. He started at catcher for the first time in 14 years on Sept. 18 at Pittsburgh and also caught on Oct. 3 against Montreal.
2003
Split 2003 between the New York Yankees and Montreal Expos...batted a combined .227 (68-299) with 40 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 100 games...hit .210 (39-186) with eight doubles, six home runs and 23 RBI in 66 games for the Yankees...was signed by the Expos on Aug. 20 as a free agent after he was released by New York on Aug. 17...in 34 games with Montreal, he batted .257 (29-113) with two doubles, two triples, five home runs and 19 RBI.
2002
Zeile batted .273 (138x506) with 18 HR and 87 RBI in 144 games with Colorado...Made his 11th Opening Day start on April 2 at St. Louis, his first at third base since 1999...With his home run in the home opener on April 8 vs Houston, he tied a major league record by becoming only the third player to homer in nine different uniforms since 1990...Tommy Davis and Dave Martinez are the others...The team-by-team breakdown of his 233 career homes: St. Louis 75; Los Angeles 38; New York Mets 32; Texas 30; Philadelphia 20; Colorado 18; Chicago Cubs 9; Florida 6, Baltimore 5...Homered in all three games in the Houston series in Denver, the third time in his career with homers in three consecutive games, also on May 3-5, 1998 and July 7-11, 1996...On June 20 vs the Yankees, hit a walk-off GW 3-run shot in the 10th off Steve Karsay...Drove in a season-high 5 runs on May 23 vs San Diego, one short of his career high set on August 8, 1994 at Florida...Recorded his 1000th career RBI on July 6 vs San Diego...Proved again to be one of the most patient batters in the game, seeing a NL best 4.31 pitches per plate appearance...Also took 65.2% of the pitches, a NL high and second in the majors to Seattle's John Olerud (66.4%)...His .942 (344/365) fielding mark was the 10th best among NL third basemen and his 23 defensive double players were tied for the 7th most...Made ML debut as a pitcher on September 14 vs Los Angeles, entering the game in the 9th inning of a 16-3 loss...After a leadoff single by Cesar Izturis, got Chad Krueter to ground out into 6-4-3 DP and then struck out Wilkin Ruan swinging...Joined Brent Mayne (8/22/00) as the only position players in Rockies history to pitch in a game.
2001
Batted .266 (141-for-531) with 10HR and 62RBI for the Mets...saw action in 151 contests, 145 at first base, despite playing a majority of the season with a bone spur in his right elbow...he reached two career milestones in the second month of the season, both coming on 5/5 vs. Arizona...he picked up his 1600th career hit and 900th RBI in a day when he went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI...the three hits tied a season high, done five times, but fell one short of his career high of four, set nine times, the last coming on 8/27/99 at Toronto (with Texas)...Zeile strung together a 13-game hit streak from 5/20-6/1, batting .380 (18-for-50) during the streak...on the year, he ranked second on the Mets in RBI with 62, trailing only Mike Piazzabs 94...as a team, New York knocked in 608 runs, the fewest in the majors, and Toddbs 62 accounted for 10 percent of them...with Toddbs 10 home runs, he now has double digit homers in his last nine seasons...he collected 37 multi-hit games on the year, again only trailing Piazza for the team lead who had 39...32 of those were two-hit games and the remaining five were all three-hitters...he also had 14 multi-RBI games; nine two-RBI games and four three-RBI outings...his best month of the season came in June, when the hit .302 (29-for-96) with three homers and 13 RBI...with runners in scoring position, Todd batted .317 (45-for-142) with six doubles, a triple and three homers.

Cracked his 200th career home run, a two-run shot vs. the Rockies' Masato Yoshii, August 17th at Shea...Fashioned a season-high 13-game hitting streak from June 7th-June 24th...During that streak, he hit .389 (21-54) with a home run and 10 RBI...In 1999, he started 155 games at third base for the Texas Rangers...Prior to this year, he played 76 games at first base (73 starts) for his career...Entering this season, his last start at first base came as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies on August 28, 1996 at San Francisco...His last appearance at first base was June 1, 1999 vs. Kansas City...Hit two home runs, including his ninth career grand slam (Veres) at St. Louis on May 27th...Knocked in five runs in the game...Now has 12 games with two home runs in his career...Went 2-2 (two singles) to highlight the Mets' six-run fourth inning at Colorado on April 29th...For the season, he had 31, two-hit games and 10, three hit contests...Also had 19 multiple-RBI contests: 13 games with two RBI, five games with three and one game with five...Hit safely in 15 of 16 games between April 16th and May 3rd (21-60, .350)...Moved his average from .222 to .302 in that stretch...Knocked in 20 runs with five home runs in 14 games from May 26th-June 10th...From July 4th-July 20th, he hit safely in 13 of 14 games (17-54, .315).

Started 155 games at third base...Established career highs in batting average, hits and doubles...Was tied for the team lead and was fifth in the American League with 41 doubles...Drove in 90 runs for the fourth straight year, one of only 18 major leaguers to accomplish that feat...Over the last four years, Todd leads the major leagues in innings played with 5,582.2 and ranks fifth in games played with 637...Had a career-best 17-game hitting streak from June 21st-July 10th, batting .429 (29-68) in that span...Also hit safely in 11 consecutive contests from July 19th-30th...Hit seven home runs in his first 23 games of the season...Collected two grand slams in September to give him seven for his career...Knocked in 21 runs during a 16-game stretch from July 16th-August 1st...Garnered American League Player-of-the-Week honors for the week of July 19th-25th and was the Rangers' Player-of-the-Month for August, when he hit .389 (35-90) with 23 RBI...Belted two home runs in consecutive contests twice during the season...Appeared at first base on June 1st vs. Kansas City...Hit .303 (88-290) on the road and .301 (52-173) with runners in scoring position...Played in 208 games, out of a possible 216 while with Texas...Was third in the American League with a .542 (13-24) batting average with the bases loaded.
1998
Began the year with the Dodgers before he was traded to Florida, along with Mike Piazza, in a seven-player trade on May 16th...Had a season-high four RBI on May 8th at Florida...Traded to Texas on July 31st and started 52 of the final 54 games of the season at third base...Set a Rangers' club record by reaching base in 11 consecutive plate appearances (five hits, six walks) from September 23rd-September 25th...Batted .336 (49-146) with men in scoring position and was 5-9 with 14 RBI with the bases loaded...Started all three games in the American League Division Series and hit a team-high .333 (3-9).
1997
Led Los Angeles and was tied for seventh in the National League in walks...Established career highs in home runs, runs, walks and games played...Played in his 1,000th major league game in his Los Angeles debut on April 1st vs. Philadelphia...Reached base in 11 straight plate appearances (seven hits, four walks) from September 3rd-September 7th...Belted two home runs in a game five times and hit the Dodgers' lone grand slam on September 7th vs. Florida.
