Spent the season in the Atlanta Braves organization, splitting the season between Richmond (AAA) and Atlanta...Made 11 relief appearances for the Braves, going 0-0 with a 7.04 ERA in just 7.2 innings...Had success at Richmond, compiling a 2-3 record with 4 saves and a 2.36 ERA in 35 games, including 1 start...in 53.1 innings, allowed just 39 hits and 14 earned runs...walked 17 and struck out 52 in holding opponents to a .202 average.

Served as long man in 1st season with SF, while also making 2 spot starts and emerging as one of NL's premier escape artists...was acquired March 30 from Milwaukee...ranked 5th in senior circuit by stranding 79.1% of inherited runners (34-of-43)...opened Giants career by logging 5.1-scoreless innings over initial 7 outings, and by forging 11 scoreless efforts in 1st 13 SF appearances overall...posted 1st SF victory May 21 vs. Montreal in Puerto Rico...faced 4 batters July 28 at San Diego before being removed with lower back strain, ailment which landed him on Disabled List day later...was activated from DL between games of Aug. 18 doubleheader vs. Montreal, making his 1st spot start in nightcap...was brilliant in his 1st start since Sept. 26, 2003 at Houston (with Milwaukee), limiting Expos to 1 run on 3 singles over 6.0 innings of 14-4 victory...both opening assignments came while Jason Schmidt was sidelined due to right groin strain...returned to bullpen for final month of season, posting 4.26 ERA (3er, 6.1ip) over his final 6 appearances...was unscored upon in 25 of his 41 relief appearances overall (61.0%)...spent winter playing for Magallenes of Venezuelan Winter League.

Parlayed successful late-season run previous season into Brewers' rotation spot in 2003...made 34 starts (36 appearances overall), going 10-13 with 5.50 ERA...proved to be durable, working at least 6.0 innings in 19 of 34 starts, while logging 194.2 frames overall...led NL in runs allowed (129), earned runs allowed (199), home runs allowed (36) and was tied for 1st in balks (4)...fashioned winning record on road, going 5-4 with 5.38 ERA (62er, 103.ip) in 19 outings (18 starts) away from Miller Park...hurled 1st career shutout, only blanking by Brewers pitcher all season, May 21 vs. San Diego...fired 2-hitter vs. Padres, allowing just pair of singles (2bb, 5so)...posted consecutive victories on 3 separate occasions, doing so May 16-21, July 17-22 and Aug. 22-27...worked 2.2-scoreless innings in pair of relief appearances, April 3 at St. Louis and April 19 at Houston...pitched winter ball for Magallanes in Venezuelan League.

Was converted to starter by Houston organization and excelled...entered season having made just 7 starts in 244 career minor league outings, but went 13-9 with 3.17 ERA in 27 opening assignments (29 appearances overall) with triple-A New Orleans...led Pacific Coast League with 163 strikeouts, while ranking 3rd in ERA and 2nd with 179.0 innings pitched...was sent to Milwaukee with IF Keith Ginter to complete Aug. 31 deal with Houston that sent Astros IF Mark Loretta in exchange for 2 players to be named later and cash considerations...made his Brewers debut Sept. 19 vs. St. Louis in 1st of 4 starts with new club...went 2-1 with 2.63 ERA (7er, 24.0ip) in Milwaukee uniform, holding opponents to .188 avg. against (16-for-85)...earned 1st ML victory against former club, allowing 1 run in 6.0 innings to defeat Houston 5-4 Sept. 19 at Miller Park...in fact, went 2-0 with 0.95 ERA (2er, 19.0ip) in final 3 starts.

Made Astros' Opening Day roster, making 11 relief appearances out of gate...was touched for 6.75 ERA (9er, 12.0ip) with Houston and was optioned to triple-A New Orleans May 5...went 2-1 with 3.81 ERA (21er, 49.2ip) in 41 games out of Zephyrs' bullpen, striking out 51.

Began season at New Orleans, but was recalled after posting 3-3 mark with 3.63 ERA (18er, 44.2ip) in 48 games...made ML debut July 24 vs. Cincinnati, retiring Ken Griffey, Jr. for 1st big league out...established career high with 3.2-innings of relief work Aug. 9 at Shea Stadium...fashioned 2.79 ERA (3er, 9.2ip) in 16 outings Aug. 12-Sept. 24, allowing just 6 hits in 34 at-bats (.176).

Earned Texas League mid-season All-Star honors during 1st season in Astros' system, going 3-1 with 20 saves and 1.61 ERA (9er, 50.1ip) in 46 games for double-A Jackson...save total paced all Houston farmhands and was 3rd-best in TL, while he ranked 2nd among circuit's relievers with .178 avg. against (31-for-174)...actually began season with single-A Kissimmee, but was promoted in May after forging 3-0 mark with 1.53 ERA (3er, 17.2ip) in 12 games.

In final year with Dodgers' organization, won career-high 9 games while notching 10 saves for single-A Vero Beach...worked in 48 games, posting 3.53 ERA (34er, 86.2ip).
