Camilo and his wife, Gerolys, have one son named Liam Camilo...It took three international signing periods for Doval to catch on with a professional team, as he signed with the Giants as an 18-year-old in October 2015...Camilo began playing baseball at age four and pitching at eight years old...His youngest brother, ?ngel, who is 21, plays baseball but no one else in his family ever did, including his father...Camilo grew up in a house in a small farm community with his mother, two brothers and a sister...The farm produced mostly yucca and plantains...Both his mom, Rosa, and father, Sergio, are farmers...They live on separate farms about two hours from one another...Rosa is now an elementary school teacher...Camilo has a combined 24 siblings and half siblings with the youngest of his father¡¯s children being a toddler while the oldest is more than 40 years old...Camilo communicates frequently with his half siblings by texting in a group chat on Whatsapp...He is closest to his immediate family: two brothers, Juaquin Emilio Doval Gir¨®n and Isa¨ªas Doval Gir¨®n; and a sister, Cheri Leydi Doval Gir¨®n...Camilo and his siblings had chores on the farm that included caring for horses, milking cows, planting and harvesting...Rosa, however, did most of the work...When he¡¯s home in the offseason he likes to relax, hang with friends and he likes to fish...Camilo has always loved horses ¨C says he¡¯s been riding since he was two years old...Grew up a fan of Carlos Martinez, Yordano Ventura and former Giants teammate Johnny Cueto, who became a mentor to Doval.

Named to the NL All-Star team, his first career selection...earned the win in the All-Star Game after working a scoreless seventh inning...posted a 2.63 ERA and converted 26-of-28 save opportunities in the first half. His 39 saves were tied for the most in the National League with PIT¡¯s David Bednar and ranked as the second-most in MLB behind CLE¡¯s Emmanuel Clase (44)¡the 39 saves were also the most by a Giant since Brian Wilson (48 in 2010). Struck out 87 batters over 67.2 innings of work (11.6 SO/9)...his 31% strikeout rate ranked in the top 8% of the league. His 26 saves before the All-Star break were tied for second-most in Giants history since saves became an official stat in 1969...only Rod Beck in 1997 had more (29) before the break. From May 2-June 14, Doval had his best stretch of the year, posting a 0.95 ERA (2er, 19.0ip), 0.79 WHIP, 28 strikeouts and converting 15-of-15 save opportunities over 19 games. Batters were 17-for-98 (.173) off his slider with 48 strikeouts. Named May¡¯s NL Reliever of the Month...posted a 1.32 ERA (2er, 13.2ip) with 23 Ks and a .143 average in 14 games. His 11 saves in May were tied for the third-most by a Giant in a single month and the most since Brian Wilson (11) in Sept/Oct 2010. Blew four straight saves from Aug. 13-23¡it was the first time since saves became an official stat in 1969 that a Giant blew a save in four consecutive appearances. Made his first career Opening Day roster...Appeared in 68 games for SF, tied with teammate Tyler Rogers for sixth-most in the NL...Was 27-for-30 in save opportunities overall...his 27 saves were sixth-most in the NL...Was named NL Reliver of the Month for September after going 2-0 with nine saves in 13 games...allowed 2er in 13.0 innings with 10 hits and 16 strikeouts...his nine saves in September were the most in the NL and second most in the Majors...Threw 104 mph cutter on Sept. 23, the fastest pitch thrown by any Giants player in the Statcast era...Became fifth pitcher in the last five seasons to hit 104 mph, but just the second in 2022...STL¡¯s Ryan Helsley threw a 104 mph fastball on Sept. 22...the others to hit 104 over the last five years are Aroldis Chapman, Tayron Guerrero and Jordan Hicks...Went 4-2 with 15 saves, a 1.69 ERA (6er, 32.0ip), .216 average and 37 strikeouts in his final 31 games of the season...Also held opponents without an earned run in 22 of his last 25 games with batters going 18-for-91 with 28 strikeouts and 12 walks...Opposing batters hit .158 against his slider...57 of his 80 strikeouts in 2022 came with the slider...Started mixing in a sinker to in mid-July that really helped offset his slider and cutter, which both break the same way...Opponents went 15-for-62 (.242) off the sinker with only two extra base hits (two doubles).

Appeared in 29 games for SF and really came on towards the end the season after being recalled from Triple-A for a fourth time in 2021 on Sept. 5...Did not allow a run in 15 games (14.1ip, 7h, 3bb, 20so) after his recall on Sept. 5...was named the National League Reliever of the Month for his September efforts...was the second Giant to win the award in 2021 (also Jake McGee in July)...Notched the first save of his career on Sept. 28 vs. Arizona...picked up three total saves over the season's final week... Overall, Doval did not allow a run in his final 16 appearances with SF dating to Aug. 12 (16.1ip)...the 16.1 inning scoreless streak was the fifth-longest active streak in the Majors at season's end...Had an average fastball velocity of 98.6mph, ranking in the 99th percentile according to Statcast...his 2574 spin rate on his fastball ranks in the 98th percentile...Made his Major League debut April 18 at Miami...Was 3-0 with a 4.99 ERA (17er, 30.2ip) along with 44 strikeouts and 24 walks allowed in 28 games for the River Cats.
POSTSEASON: Was on his first career postseason roster...Pitched 3.2 innings with a run on two hits and two strikeouts in three postseason appearances...Recorded his first career postseason save on Game 3 of the NLDS on October 11...was the youngest Giant to record a save in the postseason since saves became an official statistic in 1969...According to Stats, LLC, Doval is the only rookie to have a 2.0+ inning save in the postseason without allowing a baserunner since saves became an official stat in 1969.

Did not play due to the COVID-19 pandemic...was a part of the 60-man Player Pool from the beginning of the restart and spent the year at the Alternate Training Site...Was added to the Giants taxi squad in late September but was never activated...Participated in the Fall Instructional League.
