Full name is Jonathan Gregory Davis Jr., but he has gone by J.D. since he was in elementary school. The ¡°D¡± in J.D. stands for Davis. He says he does not go by J.G. because ¡°it doesn¡¯t flow quite as well¡±. When he was in school, he listed J.D. as his full name on tests until his teacher asked him to write Davis as well to keep track while grading papers...Was a four-year letter winner at Elk Grove (CA) High School. Was a two-time high school All-American and was named the NorCal Player of the Year in both his junior and senior years...Also was an all-league football player at Elk Grove in 2008...Earned the nickname Dizzle in high school, a mash-up of ¡°J Diesel¡¯¡¯- as in big as a diesel truck. He was just 160 pounds early in high school and added 50 pounds between his sophomore and junior years to boost his performance in both football and baseball...His Dad and Mom both work at the UC-Davis Medical Center.
