The entire Seattle Mariners organization takes the role of community leadership very seriously. The ballclub is in a unique position to connect the team with worthwhile endeavors, community partners and fundraising activities that make significant contributions to the Pacific Northwest. It is the goal and responsibility of the organization to be a community leader. During the 2019 Mariners season, Mariners Care, the team's non-profit foundation, helped raise nearly $1.5 million dollars for various charities and community projects.

Homelessness
In 2019, the Mariners made a substantial commitment to our community¡¯s response to the homelessness crisis. Through a $3 million founding grant, the Mariners helped establish Home Base, an eviction prevention program in partnership with United Way of King County and King County Bar Association. During its first six months, Home Base provided legal assistance to 1,069 households and financial assistance to help 405 households avoid eviction. The goal is for Home Base to help prevent up to 4,000 evictions each year, the leading cause of homelessness.

Mariners Wives
The Mariners Wives are dedicated to making an impact in the Seattle community by working with a variety of youth-oriented organizations. Throughout the season, the Mariners Wives volunteer their time by engaging in hospital visits, providing makeovers, facilitating art therapy projects, helping raise funds for Mariners Care, and more. The primary goal of Mariners Wives Charities is to provide support to a variety of organizations through a dedication of time, resources, and effort both at the ballpark and in the surrounding community.
