Status: Assad threw 66 pitches in 3 1/3 innings (4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K) in a rehab start with Triple-A Iowa on April 15. He has another rehab start scheduled for April 20. (updated April 16)
RHP Tyson Miller
Injury: Left hip impingement
IL date: March 25 (15-day IL, retroactive to March 21)
Expected return: April/May
Status: Miller worked one inning with two strikeouts on April 15 in a rehab outing with Triple-A Iowa. The hip setback impacted his delivery this spring. (updated April 16)
RHP Ryan Brasier
Injury: Left groin strain
IL date: March 26 (15-day IL, retroactive to March 25)
Expected return: April/May
Status: Brasier had resumed playing catch as of April 11, but he still has a lengthy buildup remaining. The reliever's groin issue flared up during/after the Cubs' trip to Japan in March. (updated April 16)

Status: Morgan left the Cubs' April 14 game in San Diego with pain in his throwing elbow and will be examined further when the team returns to Chicago. (updated April 16)
