Alec lives in Gilbert, Ariz....He and his wife, Makenna, married after the 2024 season...He attended Arizona State, where as a junior in 2019, he was named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List and the Collegiate Baseball Hall of Fame Watch List for National Pitcher of the Year...Marsh graduated from Ronald Reagan HS (Wis.) in 2016, where he recorded a 1.21 ERA on the mound and batted .470 at the plate as the team captain during his senior season.

Marsh completed his second Major League season with the Royals in 2024 after breaking Spring Training as the fifth starting pitcher...He made 26 appearances (25 starts) for the Royals, earning nine wins and striking out 123 batters over 129.0 innings pitched...He reached 100 career strikeouts on April 19 vs. Baltimore and 200 in his start on Sept. 13 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh...Missed 14 games from April 25-May 9 due to a right elbow contusion suffered on a comebacker that occurred during his start on April 24 vs. Toronto...Went 4-1 with a 2.72 ERA (13 ER in 43.0 IP) through his first eight starts from April 2-May 21...From May 27-July 29, he went 3-6 with a 6.17 ERA (40 ER in 58.1 IP)...Pitched one inning in relief on July 19 vs. the White Sox in an effort to keep his arm fresh, since he hadn¡¯t pitched in nine days due to the All-Star break...He was optioned to Triple-A Omaha following the trade deadline on July 31 and remained there for nearly a month, making five starts between Aug. 1-25, going 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA (3 ER in 19.0 IP)...Over his final six starts, after he was appointed the 27th Man for a doubleheader on Aug. 26 and recalled on Sept. 1, he logged a 3.90 ERA (12 ER in 27.2 IP) and did not allow more than three earned runs in any start...Punctuated his sophomore season with five innings of two-run (1 ER) ball in the finale on Sept. 29 at Atlanta.
