Waters began the 2022 season on the Injured List, and made a brief rehab stint with High-A Rome before joining Triple-A Gwinnett on May 3...In 52 games in the Atlanta Braves organization, he recorded 17 extra-base hits in 52 games¡in 63 games after being traded to the Royals, he recorded 36 extra-base hits, including Major League and minor league totals...Waters made his Major League debut on Aug. 22 and spent the rest of the season with Kansas City¡he hit .182 (10-for-55) with five extra-base hits in his first 20 games, but in his last 12 games, he hit .317 (13-for-41) with seven extra-base hits, including four home runs...He went 0-for-3 in his debut on Aug. 22 vs. the White Sox, but had the go-ahead, bases-loaded walk in the 8th inning, making him the second player in American League history to have a go-ahead, bases=loaded walk in the eighth or later of his Majors debut...Of his 23 hits in the Majors, 12 of them (52.2%) went for extra bases...He led the Royals with five home runs in September/ October and matched MJ Melendez for the team lead with 11 extra-base hits...During a four-game span in Cleveland from Sept. 30- Oct. 3, Waters went 6-for-15 with three HR and eight RBI...On Oct. 3 in Cleveland, Waters hit a go-ahead, three-run home run in the 10th inning to become the ninth rookie (10th occurrence) in Royals history to hit a go-ahead homer in extra innings.
