MINNEAPOLIS -- Jose Miranda¡¯s rough week got worse on Monday.
The infielder, who committed a baserunning error in the Twins¡¯ Saturday loss to Detroit and was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul after the game, suffered a strange injury Monday. He strained his left hand while trying to handle a case of bottled water.
According to a club official, Miranda was handling the water and it started to fall. When he tried to corral it and keep it from falling to the ground, he injured his hand.
It¡¯s unclear how long Miranda will be out.
