Twins announce 2025 Minor League staff assignments
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN 每 The Minnesota Twins today announced minor league managerial and coaching assignments for the 2025 season. For the fifth consecutive year, all six affiliates will have at least two pitching coaches, one of whom is bilingual (English and Spanish), while the top four levels employ five-person coaching staffs.
Triple-A St. Paul Saints
Toby Gardenhire returns for his fifth-consecutive season as manager of the St. Paul Saints after leading the club to a 70-79 record and seventh place in the International League West Division in 2024. This season will mark Gardenhire*s seventh managerial campaign in the Twins* organization (High-A Fort Myers in 2019 and Low-A Cedar Rapids in 2018), compiling a record of 446-402 (.526). Carlos Hernandez and Jonas Lovin will be St. Paul*s pitching coaches; Venezuela-born Hernandez enters his eighth year with the Twins, most recently serving as a Double-A pitching coach in 2024, and Lovin enters his third season with the club, after working in High-A Cedar Rapids each of the last two seasons. Burnsville, MN native Shawn Schlechter will be the Saints* hitting coach for the second-straight year, his sixth overall in the Twins organization. Danny Marcuzzo will be the Saints* hitting and development coach, joining the club from the college ranks where he most recently served as assistant baseball coach at the University of Akron. Ben Myers and Katie Lortie will be the Saints* athletic trainers, and Stephen Hopkins returns as the team*s strength and conditioning coach. Matt Tramp will serve as the Saints* clubhouse manager. Lincoln Ficek and Alek Hughes will be the club*s coordinators of baseball technology, with Hughes also joining the major league club occasionally.
Double-A Wichita Wind Surge
Brian Dinkelman will take over the helm of Double-A Wichita, after managing High-A Cedar Rapids each of the last five minor league seasons; he enters 2025 with a career 367-286 (.562) regular season record as a minor league manager, after leading the Kernels to a 67-63 record and third place in the Midwest League West Division in 2024. Ryan Ricci and Jesus Sanchez will be the Wind Surge*s two pitching coaches. Ricci, entering his second season in the Twins organization, served as one of Low-A Fort Myers* pitching coaches last year. Sanchez is in his third season with the Twins, working with the Dominican Summer League Twins in 2023 and the Florida Complex League Twins in 2024. Andrew Cresci and Yeison Per谷z will serve as Wichita*s hitting coaches; Cresci spent the last three seasons in the Houston Astros system and Per谷z was Wichita*s hitting and development coach last season. Chase Thompson will be the Wind Surge*s lead athletic trainer, assisted by Asja Morello, and Meagan Vota joins the Twins organization as Wichita*s strength and conditioning coach. Chase Carder returns as the Wind Surge*s coordinator of baseball technology for the third-straight season.
High-A Cedar Rapids Kernels
Brian Meyer will lead High-A Cedar Rapids this season, his sixth with the Twins and fifth as a manager in the club*s minor league system. He guided Low-A Fort Myers to a 66-59, third-place finish in the Florida State League West Division in 2024 and owns a career 262-236 (.526) regular season record as a minor league manager. Argenis Angulo returns for a second-straight season as one of the Kernels* two pitching coaches. He is joined in the pitching coach duties by Hunter Townsend, who spent the last three years working as a performance coach with Tread Athletics 每 a baseball development and training company in Charlotte, North Carolina. CJ Baker is back for his second season as one of Cedar Rapids* hitting coaches, and will work alongside hitting and development coach and organization newcomer Julian Gonz芍lez. Taylor Carpenter will be the lead athletic trainer, assisted by Morgan Leichtenberger. Blake Kretovics is back as the Kernels* strength and conditioning coach after working in the Twins organization since 2022. The Kernels* baseball technology fellow will be Marcus Hill.
Low-A Fort Myers Mighty Mussels
Seth Feldman is the new manager of Low-A Fort Myers, after spending the last three seasons at the helm of the Florida Complex League Twins; the FCL Twins went 28-31 in 2024 (fourth place in the Florida Complex League South Division), giving Feldman a career 98-139 (.414) record as a minor league manager. The Mighty Mussels* pitching coaches will be Anders Dzurak and Richard Salazar; Dzurak previously spent two seasons as a pitching coach for the Florida Complex League Twins and enters his sixth year with the Twins, while Salazar enters his third season as pitching coach with Fort Myers and eighth year overall with the Twins. Luis Reyes returns for a second season as one of the Mighty Mussels* hitting coaches; Andrew Parks joins the Twins organization as Fort Myers* other hitting coach, after working at the Florida Baseball ARMory, a training facility in Lakeland, Florida. Charysse Berkowski will be the club*s lead athletic trainer, assisted by Thaddeus Hayes, and Matt Anti is back for another season as the Mighty Mussels* strength and conditioning coach. The team*s coordinator, baseball technology will be Jeremy Miranda, who was in the same role with High-A Cedar Rapids last season.
Rookie-level Florida Complex League Twins/Lee County Sports Complex
Nico Giarratano will manage the Florida Complex League Twins this season, his first minor league managerial post in the Twins* system and second in his career, after managing the Seattle Mariners* Dominican Summer League affiliate in 2022. Giarratano served as one of the FCL Twins* development coaches in 2023 and 2024, and is in his third season with the Twins. The FCL team and complex staff will comprise three pitching coaches: Erick Julio, Chris Powell and Dan Urbina, and the rehab pitching coach will be Carter Kessinger. Julio was a pitching coach at the Twins* Dominican Academy in 2024, Powell returns for a second season in the same role and Urbina enters his seventh season in organization, after serving as one of Triple-A St. Paul*s pitching coaches last season. This will mark Kessinger*s first professional coaching post; he played four years of baseball at Yale University, graduating last May, while also spending time as the team*s director of analytics. Emilio Guerrero and Collin McBride return as the FCL Twins/complex hitting coaches, alongside development coaches Jairo Rodriguez and Tristan Toorie. Toorie was in the same role last year, while Rodriguez spent 2024 as hitting and development coach with High-A Cedar Rapids.
Stevie Blackburn-Lazalde and Tyler Blair will serve as the complex*s athletic trainers, working alongside strength and conditioning coaches Carly Beaver and Chris Collins; John Gentile will be the rehab strength and conditioning coach. Nick Coberly, Danny DiGregorio and Danielle Honnette will return as the physical therapists for the FCL team and the complex. Matt Cheesman is the minor league equipment manager and Jimmy Couto is the assistant minor league clubhouse manager. The complex*s coordinator, baseball technology 每 amateur scouting will be Kevin Marable, with Patricio de la Guardia, Jared Kahn and Logan Nieves serving as the fellows, baseball technology.
Rookie-level Dominican Summer League Twins
Rafael Martinez will take the helm of the Dominican Summer League Twins for the fourth consecutive season. Dylan Hawley and Alex Wright will split duties as pitching coaches for the DSL Twins; Hawley returns for a second season in the same role, while Wright joins the Twins from Ascent Athlete training facility. Steven Cardona and Carlos Lara will be the hitting coach tandem, serving in the same roles for a second-straight year; Ruben Santana returns as infield coach. Camille Pacheco will be the team*s head athletic trainer, assisted by Carlos Frias and Wladimir Morales. Miguel Cabrera and Serena Dahring will be the strength and conditioning coaches, and the Latin American strength and conditioning coordinator is Juan Carlos Pinto. Francisco Solano is the manager, Dominican academy operations, Julissa Marte is the academy administration assistant and Carlos Naut serves as the assistant, academy administrator. Christian Balbuena is the Dominican academy*s maintenance assistant and Raymond Perez is the academy*s driver. Wilkin Mora is the maintenance lead, Jose Carrion is the clubhouse manager and Kelvin Pantaleon is the clubhouse assistant. Pierre Jacotin will serve as specialist, language and continuing education and Jose Miguel is the coordinator, baseball technology for the academy.
Player Development Staff and Minor League Coordinators
Jeremy Zoll enters his first season as executive vice president/general manager and eighth overall with the Twins. Alex Hassan enters his eighth season in the Twins organization and first as assistant general manager, after his recent promotion. Drew MacPhail is the Twins* director, player development and Brian Maloney is the director, minor league and high performance operations. Tommy Bergjans is the director, minor league pitching development; Amanda Daley is the director of player education; Frankie Padulo will serve as the club*s assistant director, player development; and Chad Raines is the coordinator, player development. Josh Ruffin is the director, applied analytics and Nihar Maskara will serve as the analyst, baseball research.
Victor Gonzalez is the assistant director, Florida and Dominican Republic operations; Cole Satterfield is the assistant manager, Florida operations; Jason Davila is the senior manager, minor league operations; and Lisa Maria Tolentino is the coordinator, minor league operations. Gabriel Ferrer and Alex Pimentel will be the Florida operations fellows for the 2025 season.
Kevin Morgan returns as minor league field coordinator, his sixth season in the Twins organization. Edgar Varela will be the coordinator of instruction and Ehire Adrianza rejoins the Twins organization as assistant, player development after a 12-season MLB career that included four seasons (2017-20) in a Minnesota uniform. Nat Ballenberg is the pitching coordinator and Bobby Hearn will be the assistant pitching coordinator. Bryce Berg returns to his role of hitting coordinator for the fourth year, his sixth year overall in the organization. Ryan Smith returns as assistant hitting coordinator, his third year in the role and seventh with Minnesota. Mike Quade returns for his eighth campaign as outfield coordinator and Tucker Frawley joins the Twins organization as catching coordinator, after working in the same role at P27 Baseball Academy in Lexington, South Carolina.
Bryan Housand is in his fourth season with the Twins and second as director, minor league medical services; his team includes minor league medical administration coordinator Chad Jackson and Latin American medical coordinator Axel Lopez, in their 24th and 12th seasons with the Twins, respectively. Ian Kadish is the director, strength and conditioning; David Rak is the minor league strength and conditioning coordinator; and Evan McDonald is the Florida complex strength and conditioning coordinator. Lilly Araujo is the performance dietician and Isabella Burrola is the Latin American nutrition coordinator.
Tyler Schmitz will serve as the manager, baseball technology. Colin Robertson is the manager, sports science, joined by biomechanists, sports science Chris Curran and JJ Lamb, and analyst, sports science Chris Bailey.
