Expected return: TBD
Status: Reported discomfort after a March 16 bullpen session. Suffered no structural damage, will not need surgery but will not pick up a baseball for six weeks. Will be reassessed April 4. (updated April 2) More >>
2B Nick Gonzales
Injury: Non-displaced fracture of left ankle
IL date: March 28 (10-day IL)
Expected return: TBD
Status: In a boot and using a motorized scooter. Has been able to play catch in a seated position. Will undergo imaging in mid-April. If that shows healing as anticipated, his rehab can progress. (updated April 2)
1B Spencer Horwitz
Injury: Right wrist
IL date: March 27 (10-day IL, retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: Early season
Status: Progressed to caged batting practice, throwing and fielding ground balls. Rehab intensity will likely ramp up within the next 10 days, per senior director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk. (updated April 2) More >>
