The Rockies on Thursday activated Trevor Story from the 10-day injured list after optioning infielder Alan Trejo to Triple-A Albuquerque following Wednesday night¡¯s game.
Story, a two-time All-Star who played shortstop and batted cleanup in an 11-4 loss to the Marlins in the series finale, logged a single in the top of the seventh inning for his first hit since May 27. Overall, he went 1-for-3 with a walk. He scored on Yonathan Daza's grounder in the seventh inning.

¡°I felt good. I know it was 11-12 days, but it felt like a long time,¡± Story said after the game. ¡°It¡¯s great to be back playing with the guys, having fun playing baseball.¡±
Story went on the IL with right elbow inflammation and has struggled at the plate this season, hitting .257 with five home runs and 23 RBIs entering Friday¡¯s series opener against the Reds at Great American Ball Park.
¡°We didn¡¯t want to put a hard date [on my return]. I felt good. I felt athletic. That¡¯s what I¡¯m trying to do when I¡¯m out there,¡± Story said. ¡°I¡¯m not thinking about anything. I¡¯m just trying to trust my preparation and let it play out.¡±
Now that he is healthy, Story will start hearing the trade rumors all over again. He is signed through 2021, and a lot of baseball experts believe he will be dealt before the Trade Deadline on July 31.
¡°The trade rumors have been going on for a while now. I've kind of gotten used to it,¡± Story said. ¡°It¡¯s something I don¡¯t pay much attention to. A lot of other baseball people do. When it comes to me and what I need to do, [the rumors don't] help me do my job. I¡¯m really focused on the day-to-day stuff. You hear a lot of stuff. I don¡¯t pay much attention to it.¡±
Asked if he wants to stay with the Rockies, Story said, ¡°We¡¯ll see what happens. It¡¯s tough for me to say right now, but we¡¯ll see.¡±
