Executive Vice President, General Counsel & President, Astros Golf Foundation
Giles Kibbe joined Jim Crane’s family office in 2010 and currently serves as General Counsel, overseeing all the Crane enterprises.
Specifically, Giles holds various titles and responsibilities across the Crane portfolio. He is in his fourteenth year with the Houston Astros and currently serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel. Since 2018, Giles has also served as the President and Executive Director of the Astros Golf Foundation. And, since 2011 when Jim Crane acquired the prestigious Floridian National Golf Club, Giles has served as President of that operation and development.
Hailing from Port Arthur, Texas, Giles attended undergrad at Lamar University on a golf scholarship. He followed that with a law degree from LSU in 1993, where he was immediately awarded the prestigious opportunity to serve a federal clerkship for United States District Judge Joe J. Fisher from 1993-1995. Giles joined the law firm of Weller, Green, Toups & Terrell in 1996, serving as a partner for nine of his thirteen years at the firm.
In addition to his current responsibilities of oversight of the ballclub’s Legal, Risk, and Human Resources functions, Giles represents the Astros on Major League Baseball’s Presidents’ Committee and serves as board member for the following organizations:
- Crane Safety: Member Board of Directors, 2017 – 2023
- Space City Home Network: Member Board of Directors, 2023 – Present
- Greater Houston Partnership: Member Board of Directors – 2025 - Present
Giles and his wife, Andrea, are proud parents of two young children – Cade and Aquila. Alongside his passion for baseball and golf, Giles has remained committed to showcasing Houston on a global stage and is active in ensuring that the Astros and Astros Golf Foundation continue to invest in the growth of Houston through both business development and community giving.
