Vice President, Foundation and Community Affairs
The 2025 season marks Marian HarperĄ¯s 34th with the Houston Astros. Over the past three decades, Marian has been an integral part of all team charitable, fundraising and community outreach initiatives. As Vice President of Foundation and Community Affairs, Marian manages community engagement programs, fundraising operations, and leads the team family relations efforts. Marian was instrumental in development of the Astros Foundation, the official team charity of the Houston Astros and the Astros MLB Youth Academy, a cornerstone program of the foundation.
Marian serves on the board of directors for the Astros Foundation, the Houston Downtown Management District, and the Texas Council on Family Violence. Marian is dedicated to the Houston community as an American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow, a Leadership Houston alumnus and a graduate of the Leadership for Nonprofit Executives Program from Rice University. She is a member of the Astros Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
Marian was honored with the prestigious Jimmy Wynn Toy Cannon Award for exceptional community service by the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame, and in 2022 was awarded the Fred Hartman Long and Meritorious Service Award by the Houston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Marian was named a 2023 Women on the Move honoree for professional achievement and outstanding service to the community by the Texas Executive Women.
A native of Pittsburg, Texas, Marian started with the Astros in 1992 and rose through the ranks, starting as promotions coordinator for the Marketing and Sponsorship departments, then as Director of Community Relations, working with players, alumni, fans, businesses, and non-profit leaders to create positive impact in the Greater Houston community.
