Ken Korach

Play-by-Play

The 2025 season marks Ken Korach's 34th year in the American League, his 30th with the A's, and his 20th as the team's lead radio announcer. He spent the most time doing play-by-play on radio for the A's during their time in Oakland.

Korach's first MLB job was in Chicago, where he spent four years broadcasting mostly weekend games for the White Sox. He also spent six full seasons in the minor leagues, beginning in 1984 with the Redwood Pioneers of the California League. He also worked in the Pacific Coast League in Phoenix (1986-87) and Las Vegas (1989-91).

Korach was hired in 1985 to broadcast San Jose State football on KCBS Radio and he spent 22 years doing football and basketball on radio and television for Sonoma State, San Jose State and UNLV.

He is the author of Holy Toledo, Lessons from Bill King, Renaissance Man of the Mic, which was published by Wellstone Books in 2013, spent over a month as the number one best-selling baseball book on Amazon.com, and is Ken's homage to the 2017 Ford C. Frick Award recipient. Ken's second book, If These Walls Could Talk: Oakland A's, co-written by then-San Francisco Chronicle A's beat writer Susan Slusser, was released in the spring of 2019 by Triumph Books.

Korach was a finalist for the Ford C. Frick Award in 2024. He¡¯s been inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame, the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California, and the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He has been honored as Sportscaster of the Year in both California and Nevada by the National Sports Media Association.

Korach is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and he and his wife Denise are parents of their daughter, Emilee. They make their home in Henderson, Nevada.

Johnny Doskow

Play-by-Play & Host

Johnny Doskow begins his third season in the A's radio booth in 2025, where he will broadcast games as well as contribute to pregame, postgame, and A's Cast Live. Doskow was the voice of the Sacramento River Cats from 2001-2022, where he was behind the microphone for three Triple-A Championships and five Pacific Coast League Championships.

Before joining Sacramento, Doskow was the radio broadcaster for the Fresno Grizzlies (1998-2000), High Desert Mavericks (1996-1998), and Cedar Rapids Kernels (1993-1995). Johnny made his MLB debut in 2012, joining the A's radio booth for a brief stint while Ken Korach was recovering from surgery.

In 2020, Doskow published his book, Goodnight Em: Baseball and Life Through Haiku. The title is a nod to his signature sign-off, as he wished a goodnight to his daughter, Emily, at the end of each River Cats broadcast. He graduated from the University of La Verne with a bachelor's degree in Communications, Radio and Television.

A native of North Tarrytown, NY Doskow resides in Sacramento. He has a daughter Emily who is currently attending University of Colorado.

Jenny Cavnar

Television Play-by-Play

Jenny Cavnar enters her 18th season in MLB broadcasting, the five-time Emmy? Award winner spent her last decade in Colorado where she became the first woman to win National Sports Media Association (NSMA) Colorado Sportscaster of the Year in 2021. She also made baseball history in 2018 as the first woman to call play-by-play for a Major League Baseball game in 25 years. In 2015, she was the first female to provide analysis for a series of National League games in the radio booth. In addition to back up Play-by-Play, she hosted the Rockies Pregame and Postgame Shows and served as a sideline reporter.

Cavnar can often be heard as a voice on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM throughout the regular season and postseason coverage. In addition to her baseball work, Cavnar calls men's and women's college basketball on FS1 and PAC 12 Networks.

A 2004 graduate of Colorado State University, Cavnar began her MLB broadcasting career in 2007 in San Diego where she met her husband Steve Spurgeon (from Stockton, CA). Her love for baseball comes from her dad, Steve Cavnar, a Colorado High School Hall of Fame baseball coach. Cavnar resides in Denver with her husband and two children, Vincent and Emmery.

Dallas Braden

Television Analyst

Dallas Braden enters his seventh season as an A's television color commentator and field analyst after spending 2017 as a pre- and postgame host for NBC Sports California.

Braden was Oakland's 24th round pick in 2004 and made his Major League debut with the A's in 2007. In his five-year playing career - all with Oakland - he compiled a 26-36 record to go along with a 4.16 career ERA. The highlight of Braden's playing career came on May 9, 2010 when he threw the 19th perfect game in MLB history against the Tampa Bay Rays on Mother's Day.

After retiring in 2014, Braden joined ESPN as a studio and color analyst. He left ESPN in 2017 to join NBC Sports California.

A native of Stockton, Calif., Braden resides in Simi Valley, Calif., with his wife, Meg, their daughters Kinslee, Marlee, Wylee, and his grandmother Peggy.

Chris Caray

Television Play-by-Play

Chris Caray enters his first season as a play-by-play announcer for the Athletics on NBC Sports Bay Area in 2024. Chris joins the A's after two years in Minor League Baseball.

He previously was the play-by-play voice of the Amarillo Sod Poodles (Double-A, Arizona Diamondbacks) and the Arizona Fall League (2023). Before that, he graduated from the University of Georgia in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.

During his time in college, he served as the play-by-play announcer for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League (2021). Other credits include baseball play-by-play for Valdosta State University. Chris also broadcast baseball, softball and men¡¯s and women¡¯s soccer for Georgia-Gwinnett College. While at Georgia, Chris spent two years as the Sports Director for WUOG radio, Georgia's campus radio station. While there, he earned the prestigious WSB Radio Award, which honors the most outstanding student broadcaster in the state of Georgia. Additionally, Chris has done freelance broadcast work around the Southeast.

He is the fourth generation of Carays to serve as a MLB play-by-play announcer, after his father Chip, his grandfather Skip, and great-grandfather Harry. Chip is the current TV play-by-play voice for the St. Louis Cardinals on Bally Sports Midwest. Skip most notably called games for the Atlanta Braves from 1976-2008. Harry was a Ford C. Frick Award recipient (1989) for his contributions in broadcast with the St. Louis Cardinals (1945-1969), Chicago White Sox (1971-1981) and Chicago Cubs (1982-1997), and also broadcast one season for the Athletics in 1970. Chris also has an identical twin brother, Stefan, who worked alongside him in Amarillo for two years.

A Florida native, Caray graduated from Saint Augustine High School and later from the University of Georgia in 2022. His family members include his parents, Chip and Susan, brothers Stefan (24) and Tristan (15), and sister, Summerlyn (26). Chris lives in the Bay Area.

Chris Townsend

Host & Senior Broadcast Producer

Chris Townsend enters his seventh season as Host and Senior Broadcast Producer for A's Cast. In this role, he is responsible for creating and delivering multimedia A's content across multiple platforms.

Townsend hosts the weekly talk show, A's Cast Live, and the A¡¯s pregame and postgame shows on both TV and radio, Townsend has worked in numerous capacities covering the A¡¯s.

He joined the A's after working for a number of local sports companies, including Oakland Raiders, 95.7 The Game, KNBR 680 and CSN Sports Bay Area. Chris has lived in the Bay Area for more than 25 years after attending San Jose State and playing baseball for the Spartans.

His grandfather Bob Elliott was the first third baseman in baseball history to win the MVP in 1947. Elliott was a seven-time All-Star during his 15 year career. He also was the manager of the Kansas City Athletics in 1960.

Jessica Kleinschmidt

Multimedia Reporter

Jessica Kleinschmidt heads into her seventh season covering the A's in 2025. She contributes content to A's Cast, the A's Radio Network, and the Athletics' social media channels as a reporter and host.

Kleinschmidt began her sports media career in the minor leagues covering the Reno Aces (Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) as a reporter. She then started her national career with MLB.com's Cut4 during the 2017 season as a writer and host, continuing through the 2018 campaign.

She spent three years covering all Bay Area teams for NBC Sports Bay Area, including the 2019-20 NFC champion San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors on their way to the 2019 NBA Finals.

Kleinschmidt became the reporter and beat writer for the A's with NBC Sports California, where she covered the team during the 2019 American League Wild Card Game and the AL Wild Card Series in 2020 during the COVID season. Kleinschmidt also covered the San Francisco Giants and Major League Baseball for NBC on the digital and podcast platforms.

In 2022, Kleinschmidt was one of just four women to call a Triple-A game across the league when she was on the broadcast for the Aces.

Kleinschmidt is also the host of "Short and to the Point" podcast on the Awful Announcing and The Comeback platforms.

She currently lives in Walnut Creek and spends plenty of time in Reno, Nev./Lake Tahoe with her friends and family.
