MVP Awards
American League
In recognition of his unprecedented season, the Angels' Shohei Ohtani was unanimously named AL MVP for batting .257/.372/.592 with 46 HRs, 100 RBIs, 103 runs and 26 SBs, while also going 9-2 with a 3.18 ERA and 156 K's in 130 1/3 innings.
National League
Phillies slugger Bryce Harper became just the fifth player to earn MVP honors with two teams, winning the hardware in the NL after slashing .309/.429/.615 with 35 HRs, 84 RBIs and an MLB-best 179 OPS+.
Cy Young Awards
American League
Coming off a rough 2020 season, a reinvented Robbie Ray was electric for the Blue Jays, leading the Majors in strikeouts (248) and the AL in ERA (2.84), innings (193 1/3) and WHIP (1.045) to become the first Toronto pitcher since Roy Halladay in '03 to win the AL Cy Young Award.
National League
The Major League leader in ERA (2.43) strikeout rate (35.6), strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.88), FIP (1.63) and barrel rate (2.9%), Corbin Burnes continued to dominate after a historic start to his 2021 season, ending Milwaukee's 39-year Cy Young Award drought in narrowly taking NL honors.
Rookie of the Year Awards
American League
Randy Arozarena followed up a tremendous 2020 postseason with a full season of outstanding work, becoming just the third rookie to go 20-20 and leading all rookies with a .274 average en route to winning the AL Rookie of the Year Award.
National League
The Reds' first NL Rookie of the Year since 1999, Jonathan India emerged as a non-roster invitee to lead all Major League rookies in on-base percentage (.376), doubles (34), walks (71), runs scored (98) and games played (150) while ranking second in OPS (.835).
Manager of the Year Awards
American League
Kevin Cash joined only Bobby Cox in repeating as Manager of the Year, securing the AL honor after leading the Rays to 100 victories and the top seed in the league.
National League
In leading the Giants to a franchise-record and 2021 MLB-best 107 wins, skipper Gabe Kapler netted 28 first-place votes to earn the NL Manager of the Year Award.

American League
En route to becoming the fourth Blue Jays slugger to win the AL Hank Aaron Award, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied for the MLB lead with 48 homers and finished first in the AL in on-base percentage (.401) and slugging (.601). No MLB player had more runs scored (123) or total bases (363) than Guerrero.
National League
Bryce Harper earned his second career NL Hank Aaron Award after leading the Majors with a .615 slugging percentage and a 1.044 OPS while batting .309. The Phillies outfielder crushed 35 home runs and produced an MLB-leading 42 doubles over 141 games.
Clemente Award
In recognition for his generosity in his native Dominican Republic in support of those in need during the pandemic and his efforts to break the cycle of poverty, slugger Nelson Cruz was named the winner of the annual Roberto Clemente Award. The honor is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
Postseason awards
Capping a tremendous ALCS run with a 4-for-4 night in the Astros' Game 6 clincher over the Red Sox, OF/DH Yordan Alvarez hit .522 (12-for-23) in the series with a homer, five extra-base hits, seven runs scored, six RBIs and a 1.408 OPS en route to earning ALCS MVP honors.
Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario became one of only five players to record 14 hits in a postseason series and one of only three qualified players to hit .560, smashing Dodgers pitching en route to becoming only one of eight players to earn an LCS MVP honor after a midseason trade.
Jorge Soler became one of only six players to hit at least three go-ahead homers in a World Series, including a three-run, 446-foot rocket in the Braves' Game 6 clincher, en route to MVP honors. Overall, Soler -- who came to the Braves in a midseason trade -- slashed .300/.391/.800 with 3 HR, 6 RBIs and 4 runs in 20 at-bats in the World Series.
Comeback Players of the Year
The Orioles' Trey Mancini -- who missed the 2020 season while undergoing treatment for colon cancer -- and the Giants' Buster Posey -- who did not play in 2020, then at age 34 had one of his best seasons before retiring -- are MLB's Comeback Players of the Year for 2021.
Relievers of the Year
Brewers closer Josh Hader (1.23 ERA, 34 SV) became the first three-time winner of the Trevor Hoffman NL Reliever of the Year Award, while White Sox closer Liam Hendriks (2.54 ERA, 38 SV) notched his second consecutive Mariano Rivera AL Reliever of the Year Award.
Outstanding DH
Shohei Ohtani, the 2021 AL MVP, became the first Angel to earn the Edgar Martinez Outstanding DH Award, adding to his trophy case after a season in which he became the first player in AL or NL history with at least 45 HRs, 25 SBs and five triples in a season.
Historic Achievement Award
In honor of his unprecedented 2021 season, in which he became the game's first two-way All-Star, Commissioner Rob Manfred presented Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani with the Commissioner¡¯s Historic Achievement Award, which is presented in recognition of an achievement of historical significance.
Players Choice Awards
The players have spoken and they, just like most anyone paying attention to baseball this season, chose two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani as the 2021 Player of the Year.
