Fredbird has been entertaining Cardinals Nation since April of 1979! From the day he was hatched, Fredbird loved going to games with mom and pop bird. The noise of the crowd, the action on the field, and, of course, all the ballpark treats kept him flying back for more.
One day, Fredbird got up on the dugout and started dancing between innings when the organ played. The fans nearby cheered him on and he knew then he was made for the stage. As Fredbird got older, he did more and more at Busch Stadium. He played pranks on the umpires, shot t-shirts into the crowd, and played games with the kids. The Cardinals noticed how much the fans loved Fred and decided to give him a life-long contract as the official team mascot.
Now Fredbird is at every Cardinals home game greeting fans, leading parades, cheering with Team Fredbird, taking selfies, and shooting shirts. You can find him in the Family Pavilion during from first pitch to the start of the 3rd inning.
He's also out and about all over St. Louis! You can find him at schools, hospitals, birthday parties, and passing out tickets to fans in the area. Be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram @TeamFredbird to see what Fredbird's up to!
