Cardinals Hall of Fame Vote presented by Edward Jones

WHO DO YOU THINK BELONGS IN THE ST LOUIS CARDINALS HALL OF FAME?

The Cardinals and Edward Jones have teamed up to honor the greatest players in the club's history! Each member will be permanently enshrined in the Cardinals Hall of Fame Gallery at Ballpark Village next to Busch Stadium. Voting begins on February 22 and ends on April 18. The player with the highest number of votes will gain election, and will be inducted at the 2025 Hall of Fame Induction on Saturday, September 6th!

Steve Carlton (LHP)

Years: 1965 - 1971

77-62, 3.10 ERA, 66 CG, 16 SHO, 951 SO, 1.28 WHIP, 1,265.1 IP (172 Games Started)

Steve Carlton began his National Baseball Hall of Fame career in St. Louis, capped with a 20-9 record and his third All-Star selection in 1971. He ranked second in the National League with a 2.17 ERA in 1969. The left-hander ranks ninth in franchise history with 951 strikeouts and tied for third with 13 games of 10-plus strikeouts. In his five full seasons with the Cardinals, Carlton averaged 32 starts and 237 innings while working more than seven innings per start. He was a member of the 1967 World Series champions and the 1968 N.L. pennant winners.

George Hendrick (OF)

Years: 1978 - 1984

George Hendrick was a strong and steady presence for the Cardinals for seven seasons as an outfielder and first baseman. He topped the team in home runs and RBI and received National League Most Valuable Player Award votes four consecutive years (1980-83), while batting .300 or better three times. A two-time All-Star and Silver Slugger Award recipient with St. Louis, Hendrick drove in the winning run in Game 7 of the 1982 World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. ��Silent George�� ranks ninth in franchise history with 62 game-winning RBI (since 1980). He served as the Cardinals�� hitting coach in 1996 and 1997.

Brian Jordan (OF)

Years: 1992 - 1998

Outfielder Brian Jordan finished eighth in National League Most Valuable Player Award voting in 1996 after batting .310 with 36 doubles, 17 home runs, 104 RBI and 22 stolen bases �C leading the Cardinals to the NL Central Division championship and their first postseason appearance since 1987. He batted .422 with runners in scoring position that year, a franchise record at the time. In 1998, Jordan set career highs with a .316 batting average and 25 homers. A first-round selection in the 1988 MLB Draft, Jordan played in the NFL for three seasons while working his way up the Cardinals�� farm system.

?dgar Renter��a (SS)

Years: 1999 - 2004

.290/.347/.420, 497 R, 973 H, 207 2B, 71 HR, 451 RBI, 148 SB (903 Games)

Among shortstops, ?dgar Renter��a ranks second in Cardinals history in home runs and stolen bases and third in batting average (minimum 1,500 plate appearances), hits, extra-base hits and RBI. He won three Silver Slugger Awards and two Gold Glove Awards in six seasons, including both in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, Renter��a set franchise records for a shortstop with a .330 average and 47 doubles, to go with 13 homers, 100 RBI and 34 steals. A three-time All-Star with St. Louis, he played on four National League Central Division championship teams and batted .333 in the 2004 World Series against Boston.

Eligibility

To be eligible, nominees must have played for the Cardinals for at least three season and be retired as a player from Major League Baseball for at least three years.

The eligible pool of players is divided into two categories, including "modern players" and "veteran players." If a player retired more than 40 years prior to the induction year, he is classified as a veteran player.

Modern players are selected for induction by a six-week fan vote. Veteran players are selected for induction by the Red Ribbon Panel. From time to time, the Cardinals organization may opt to induct an individual who was an important figure in Cardinals history such as a coach, broadcaster or member of the front office.
