Here are the Nationals' 2025 Top 30 Prospects list
A new generation has already descended on Washington, and there¡¯s more where that came from.
The arrivals of James Wood and Dylan Crews on the Nationals¡¯ Major League roster in 2024 indicated a clear turning of the corner in the NL East club¡¯s rebuilding plans, but as MLB Pipeline¡¯s newly released Top 30 Prospects list shows, the young talent won¡¯t stop when Crews graduates quickly in 2025.
Washington boasts three Top 100 prospects in Crews and right-handed pitchers Travis Sykora and Jarlin Susana, two 6-foot-6 20-year-olds with high-octane stuff but no experience above High-A. Their continued development, which will pick up in Sykora¡¯s case once he¡¯s recovered from offseason hip surgery, will bring additional length to the Washington pipeline beyond this summer -- should they continue on their current trajectories.
The same could be said for the Nationals¡¯ 2024 Draft class. Three picks from last year are featured in the organization¡¯s updated Top 10: first-rounder Seaver King (No. 5), second-rounder Luke Dickerson (No. 6) and competitive balance selection Caleb Lomavita (No. 9). Sykora notably jumped into the Top 100 in his first full season, and those three could follow in his path, although they will do so as hitters.
Speaking of adding top-end talent via Draft, the Nats hold the No. 1 overall pick this July for the third time in franchise history. The first two worked out pretty well between Stephen Strasburg (2009) and Bryce Harper (2010). Adding another mega-talent to this group could set up not only future success in DC but sustainable, homegrown success at that.
Here¡¯s a look at the Nationals¡¯ top prospects:
1. Dylan Crews, OF (MLB No. 4)
2. Travis Sykora, RHP (MLB No. 70)
3. Jarlin Susana, RHP (MLB No. 79)
4. Brady House, 3B
5. Seaver King, SS

Biggest jump/fall
Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the 2024 preseason list to the 2025 preseason list:
Jump: Travis Sykora, RHP (2024: 11 | 2025: 2)
Sykora led the Minors (minimum 80 innings) with his 39.2 percent strikeout rate and 20.8 percent swinging-strike rate over 20 starts with Single-A Fredericksburg, and he accomplished that while dealing with the hip issue that diminished his velocity, somewhat, in his first full season. He still sat 93-96 mph and showed two above-average secondary pitches in his slider and splitter, and that combination of arsenal and results pushed him from the third round and into the Top 100. He is expected to return by May and could see even more of an increase in velo once fully healthy.
Fall: Elijah Green, OF (2024: 6 | 2025: 25)
The 2022 fifth overall pick continues to ooze tools, as a plus-plus runner who makes incredibly loud contact and could play center field in the Majors right now. But he¡¯s coming off a second consecutive season in which he struck out more than 40 percent of the time at Single-A -- a number that wouldn¡¯t be viable at any level. Green is still just 21 years old, but the longer he goes with supremely subpar contact numbers, the more tenuous his Top 30 spot becomes.
