Here are the Rockies' 2025 Top 30 prospects
The tendency when talking about the Rockies farm system and the makeup of the Top 30 is to focus on the bats. And there¡¯d be nothing wrong with doing that now when looking at the potential future power in their new Top 30, starting with 2024 first-rounder Charlie Condon and extending to international signees like Robert Calaz.
But today? Today, let¡¯s talk about the pitching.
It¡¯s long been a tough puzzle for the Rockies to crack, finding a consistent pipeline of arms to the big leagues. And it¡¯s perhaps even more important to look at what¡¯s down on the farm now given the injury history of the big league staff and the recent injury news at Spring Training.
It starts at the top with No. 1 prospect Chase Dollander, their top pick in the 2023 Draft, who could very well be ready to hit the big league rotation now. Brody Brecht was their second selection in 2024 and has about as high a variance in future outcomes as any pitching prospect, with the stuff to be a frontline starter, if he can find the strike zone. There are other interesting arms who could soon impact the big league staff throughout this list, from possible closer Seth Halvorsen (see more below) and lefties Carson Palmquist and Sean Sullivan.

Biggest jump/fall
Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the 2024 preseason list to the 2025 preseason list:
Jump: Seth Halvorsen, RHP (2024: NR | 2025: 18)
He won¡¯t be a prospect for long, so we better talk about him now. Halvorsen went from being a 23-year-old senior sign taken in the seventh round of the 2023 Draft to the big league bullpen in just over a year. Not only did he save nine games and strike out 11.4 per nine in the Minors, he picked up two more saves and was even stingier with baserunners in his big league debut, putting him in line to compete to close games for the Rockies.
Fall: Dyan Jorge, SS (2024: 7 | 2025: NR)
Signed for $2.8 million in January of 2022, Jorge spent the 2024 season with High-A Spokane at age 21 and there were a couple of warning signs. Offensively, there¡¯s a lack of approach and impact, and he finished with a .319 SLG and 18 extra-base hits over 121 games. Defensively, there¡¯s concern he¡¯s not an everyday shortstop, with the need to work on everything from reads and angles to anticipation.
