Posted a 3.66 ERA and 9-7 record in a career-high 30 starts (31 apps.), 159.2 innings, 156 strikeouts, 1.15 WHIP and .250 opponents batting AVG. Finished the season with a 5.38 (156/29) K/BB ratio (min. 100.0 IP); ranked third in NL and sixth-best in MLB. Held opponents to one ER or less in 16 starts this season, the second-most such starts by a left-handed starter in club history, trailing only Dontrelle Willis, who recorded 18 such starts in 2005. His 16 starts allowing one or zero ER were tied for second in MLB among starting pitchers, behind only behind SD¡¯s Blake Snell (17). Garrett made 23 starts in which he walked one or zero batters, the most by any left-handed starter in MLB. The Marlins went 21-9 in Garrett¡¯s starts this year. Miami won eight consecutive starts made by Garrett from May 31 to July 8. He went 4-0 with a 2.84 ERA (44.1/14) in this span with four walks and 54 strikeouts. Made his Major League debut on Sept. 13 against Philadelphia. Worked five innings allowing three hits and one run, striking out six and earning his first big league win... Became the 18th Marlins player to make their MLB debut in 2020.
