LATEST INJURIES
RHP Emiliano Teodo
Injury: Thumb soreness
Expected return: Day-to-day
Status: Teodo, the Rangers¡¯ No. 6 prospect, threw 15 pitches in a bullpen on Feb. 16. He left his bullpen session early the previous time with right thumb soreness. There are no issues at this point. (updated Feb. 17)
LHP Robert Garcia
Injury: Forearm nerve irritation
Expected return: Next week
Status: Suarez used all his pitches in his first bullpen session of the spring on Feb. 19 and reported no issues. He is expected to throw another bullpen on Feb. 21. (updated Feb. 19)
DH Joc Pederson
Injury: Flu
Expected return: Later this week
The newest Ranger has the flu and will be away from the club for at least two days as he recovers. He is the second member of the team to contract the flu since the start of camp, joining reliever Chris Martin. (updated Feb. 17)
RHP Josh Sborz
Injury: Shoulder surgery
Expected return: Summer 2025
Status: Sborz had right shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Nov. 13. It was a debridement procedure. Entering camp, he got a favorable report from his surgeon and will begin some light plyometric work as part of his throwing progression. He was transferred to the 60-day IL to make room on the 40-man roster for the signing of right-hander Luke Jackson. (updated Feb. 17)
OF Adolis García
Injury: Left patellar tendon strain
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Garc¨ªa spent the early part of the offseason rehabbing for a strain in his left patellar tendon. He¡¯s been swinging a bat since January and will be ready for the start of camp. (updated Feb. 10)
RHP Tyler Mahle
Injury: Right shoulder stiffness
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Mahle returned to the big leagues in 2024 after a long Tommy John rehab, but he landed on the IL after just three starts with right shoulder stiffness (updated Feb. 10)
SS Corey Seager
Injury: Sports hernia
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Seager underwent surgery on Sept. 13 to treat a sports hernia on his right side, ending his season prematurely. He is back at full strength entering Spring Training (updated Feb. 10)
RHP Jon Gray
Injury: Right foot neuroma
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Gray spent the winter rehabbing a foot injury, but should be ready for a normal Spring Training (updated Feb. 10)
OF Evan Carter
Injury: Lower back soreness
Expected return: Spring Training
Status: Carter was sidelined with a variety of back injuries for most of 2024. He¡¯s a full-go for spring (updated Feb. 10)
