May 8, 2001 - The Rockies hammer 18 hits in a 12-4 win over the New York Mets. All nine starters record at least one hit, led by Neifi Perez¡¯s four hits and four RBI.
May 7, 2013 - The Rockies beat the New York Yankees 2-0 on a Carlos Gonzalez two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jorge De La Rosa tosses six scoreless innings.
May 6, 2014 - Charlie Blackmon hits the second of his franchise record 36 leadoff home runs as the Rockies coast to a 12-1 win over the Texas Rangers.
May 5, 1996 - Kevin Ritz becomes the first Rockies pitcher to pitch a complete game at Coors Field in a 5-4 win over the Florida Marlins.
May 4, 1996 - Andres Galarraga goes 3-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBI as the Rockies coast to a 17-5 win over the Florida Marlins. The Rockies score seven runs in the first inning behind home runs from Eric Young, Ellis Burks and Larry Walker.
May 4, 1997 - Roger Bailey tosses a complete game shutout in a 9-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, the second complete game shutout at home in franchise history. It is Bailey¡¯s third complete game and second complete game shutout in his first five starts of the season.
May 3, 2013 - Nolan Arenado makes his Coors Field debut and goes 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI in a 7-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
May 2, 1995 - Joe Girardi drives in Roberto Mejia in the bottom of the 11th inning to send the Rockies to their fourth straight win to begin play at Coors Field, with all four wins coming via walk off or in the Rockies¡¯ last at-bat.
May 1, 2000 - Todd Helton records his first of two career three home run games in a 15-8 Rockies win over the Montreal Expos.
April 30, 2002 - The Rockies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-0, the third time in franchise history that the Rockies scored 10 or more runs and pitched a shutout (it¡¯s happened 10 times through 2019). Todd Helton and Todd Zeile each homer while Mike Hampton pitches seven scoreless innings.
April 29, 2007 - At Coors Field during a 9-7 win over the Atlanta Braves, Troy Tulowitzki turns the 13th unassisted triple play in MLB history. With runners on first and second on the move in the top of the seventh inning, Tulowitzki catches Chipper Jones¡¯ line drive (1), steps on second to retire Kelly Johnson (2), and then tags Edgar Renteria (3) returning to first base.
April 28, 2002 - Jason Jennings tosses seven scoreless innings in a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Jennings would go on to win the NL Rookie of the Year Award, the only Rockies player to do so.
April 27, 1995 - Walt Weiss comes through with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the Rockies to their second consecutive walk-off win to open Coors Field (1995).
April 26, 1995 - In the first official game at Coors Field after a strike delayed the start of the 1995 season, Dante Bichette hits a walk-off home run against the Mets in the 14th inning. Larry Walker goes 3-for-7 with three RBI in his first game with the Rockies.
April 25, 2001 - The Rockies beat the Florida Marlins 6-5 on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Jeff Cirillo. Todd Helton goes 2-for-4 with two home runs, including a game-tying two-run home run in the seventh inning.
April 24, 2010 - Aaron Cook pitches his seventh and final complete game at Coors Field, which remains a career record for the ballpark.
April 23, 2013 - In the first game of a doubleheader between the Rockies and the Atlanta Braves, the temperature at first pitch is an MLB-record low 23 degrees. Game Two of the doubleheader warms up to 30 degrees. Atlanta wins both games, 4-2 and 10-2.
April 22, 1997 - Roger Bailey pitches his second consecutive complete game in a 13-4 win over Florida, making him the only pitcher in Rockies history to win two consecutive complete games (shut out the Cubs at Wrigley Field on April 16 in his previous outing).
April 21, 2017 - Charlie Blackmon hits his first career inside-the-park home run, off Johnny Cueto, in the fourth inning of a 6-5 win over San Francisco
April 20, 2004 - Tim Harikkala pitches a scoreless, hitless inning of relief against the Dodgers that would begin his franchise-record, 11-inning hitless streak.
April 20, 1999 - A school shooting and attempted bombing occurred at Columbine High School in the Denver suburb of Columbine, Colo.
April 20, 2010 - Rockies President Keli McGregor passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48.
April 19, 2013 - The Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 3-1 on just three hits, which ties a franchise record for the fewest hits in a win at home (fourth time).
April 18, 2003 - Aaron Cook pitches a complete game, allowing one run, as the Rockies beat the Padres 12-1.
April 17, 2012 - Jamie Moyer becomes the oldest pitcher in MLB history to earn a win, beating the San Diego Padres 5-3 at Coors Field.
April 16, 2013 - Rockies and Mets employees, including Rockies Owner Dick Monfort and Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson, team up to clear Coors Field of nine inches of snow ahead of a doubleheader against the Mets. The Rockies beat the Mets in both ends of the doubleheader with the first pitch played at 39 degrees.
April 15, 2001 - Todd Hollandsworth hits a three-run, walk-off home run in the 10th inning off of Matt Mantei as the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 10-7
April 14, 2010 - Chris Iannetta hits a walk-off home run in the 10th inning off Jenrry Mejia as the Rockies beat the Mets 6-5
April 13, 2016 - The Rockies set a franchise record with four triples, including two by Trevor Story, in a 10-6 win over the Giants. Nolan Arenado goes 4-for-5 with two home runs and a career-high seven RBI in the win.
April 12, 2004 - The Rockies rally with three runs in the sixth inning and four in the seventh to come from behind and beat the Dbacks 7-4 in the 2004 Home Opener. Charles Johnson leads the way for the Rockies with two hits and three RBI.
April 11, 2017 - The Rockies beat the Padres 3-2 on three solo home runs by Charlie Blackmon, Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado, the first time in franchise history they won a game on three solo home runs.
April 10, 2009 - The Rockies beat the defending World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies 10-3 in the Home Opener. Jason Marquis logs the win after allowing two runs across seven innings. Ryan Spilborghs went 3-for-5 with two RBI while Garrett Atkins hit his first home run of the season.
April 10, 2003 - In a 7-6 win vs. St. Louis, the Rockies turn the first triple play in club history. With Scott Rolen on second base and Tino Martinez on first, first baseman Todd Helton catches Orlando Palmeiro¡¯s soft liner for the first out and throws to shortstop Jose Hernandez, who steps on second for the second out and tags Martinez to complete the triple play.
April 9, 2010 - The Rockies hold the Padres scoreless on only two hits in a 7-0 Home Opener win, the second Home Opener shutout in franchise history (also: 2001). Jorge De La Rosa pitched seven innings and allowed one hit with one walk and nine strikeouts.
April 8, 2017 - Three Rockies homer off Clayton Kershaw en route to a 4-2 Rockies win. Mark Reynolds and Gerardo Parra hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to snap a 1-1 tie, the first set of back-to-back home runs in Kershaw¡¯s career.
April 8, 2003 - Todd Helton sets a club record by reaching base in all seven plate appearances in a 15-12 loss in 13 innings to the St. Louis Cardinals. Helton goes 4-for-4 with three walks on the day.
April 7, 1997 - The Rockies beat the Reds 13-2 in the 1997 Home Opener, the largest margin of victory in a Home Opener in franchise history. Colorado scored five runs in the first and five in the fourth, all coming off Reds starter and current Rockies Minor League Coach Dave Burba. All eight position players in the starting lineup recorded multiple hits, with Vinny Castilla and Jeff Reed connecting for home runs.
April 7, 2017 - Denver native Kyle Freeland makes his Major League debut in the Rockies Home Opener against the Dodgers and leads the Rockies to a 2-1 win after allowing one run on four hits across six innings. Dustin Garneau¡¯s solo home run in the fifth inning snaps the 1-1 tie.
April 6, 2003 - The Rockies beat Curt Schilling and the Dbacks 8-3 to complete a three-game sweep to begin the home slate. Todd Helton hit his first home run of the year while Gabe Kapler went 3-for-4 with two RBI. (2003)
April 6, 2018 - The Rockies lose 8-3 to the Atlanta Braves in the 2018 Home Opener. The first pitch temperature of 27 degrees is the second-coldest home game in franchise history.
April 5, 2001 - The Rockies beat the Cardinals 11-2. Pedro Astacio pitches eight innings and allows one run with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Ron Gant and Todd Helton each homer for the Rockies.
April 5, 2003 - Preston Wilson doubles in Todd Helton in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Rockies walk-off on the D-backs 4-3. The Rockies tied the game in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Jay Payton off Randy Johnson.
April 5, 2011 - The Rockies blank Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers 3-0 behind Jhoulys Chacin¡¯s seven scoreless innings. Troy Tulowitzki and Chris Iannetta each hit a solo home run off Kershaw.
April 5, 2013 - The Rockies beat the Padres 5-2 in the 2013 home opener. Jeff Francis earns the win after allowing one run across six innings. Dexter Fowler and Wilin Rosario each connected for home runs off Padres starter Jason Marquis.
April 4, 2005 - The Rockies rally for four runs in the ninth inning off Padres closer Trevor Hoffman, capped off by a Clint Barmes two-run walk-off home run.
April 4, 2014 - Charlie Blackmon goes 6-for-6 with three doubles, one home run, five RBI and four runs scored in the Rockies¡¯ 12-2 Home Opener win over Arizona. The six hits tied the Rockies record originally set by Andres Galarraga in 1995 and he became just the 10th player since 1920 to go 6-for-6 or better with at least five RBI and four runs scored.
April 3, 2006 - The Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 in 11 innings, the third extra-innings home opener in franchise history and the third walk-off win in Home Opener history (also: 1995, 2005). Brad Hawpe drives in Matt Holliday with an RBI fielders choice to win the game.
April 2, 2001 - The Rockies shutout the St. Louis Cardinals 8-0 in Opening Day at Coors Field, the first shutout on Opening Day or a Home Opener in franchise history. Mike Hampton, making his first start in a Rockies uniform, tosses 8.1 scoreless innings.
