The Detroit Tigers celebrate the dedication and sacrifice of all branches of the military and veterans during the annual Armed Forces and Veteran Recognition Day at Comerica Park. Active service members and veterans are invited to participate in an on-field ceremony and receive more than 1,000 tickets to enjoy the game with their families. The Detroit Tigers are proud to give back to the men and women who serve our country and make sacrifices for our freedom and safety. Through a variety of programs, the Tigers show appreciation for active and former military members as well as local first responders for their service.

The Tigers visit with veterans at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit. During their most recent visit, players were challenged by Veterans from the Visual Impairment Team in several competitions that are played in the National Golden Age Games. Games include shuffleboard, bocce ball and a mystery box.
The Detroit Tigers hosted the annual Holiday Giving Party creating memorable holiday experiences for 50 youth and their families from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) organization. Tigers players Niko Goodrum, JaCoby Jones and John Schreiber, along with FOX Sports Detroit broadcaster Matt Shepard and Tigers Radio play by play voice Dan Dickerson joined the families for a holiday dinner highlighted by a surprise shopping spree for each of the youth.
The Detroit Tigers and Major League Baseball applaud the unselfish acts of everyday heroes for their commitment to public service. The Tigers welcome firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians to Comerica Park to honor them and pay tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Serve Together
The Tigers Wives joined the Salvation Army Bed and Bread Trucks making a variety of stops in the areas that demonstrate the most need throughout the city of Detroit. Every day, the trucks provide over 3,800 meals to the hungry and homeless. The Tigers Wives prepared and served meals from the Bed & Bread Trucks.
The Detroit Tigers and Tigers Wives supported FOX Sports Detroit¡¯s 12th April in the D campaign. In the celebration of The District Detroit, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers, the Tigers Wives joined fans in their run/walk around Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena while finishing on the warning track of Comerica Park.
The Tigers Wives along with the Detroit Tigers front office, family and friends help raise awareness and funds by participating in the annual Susan G Komen Greater Detroit Race for the Cure 5K walk/run at Comerica Park. After participating in the walk/run, the Detroit Tigers team presented the "Rookie of the Year Award" to the largest new team at the race. The winning team received complimentary tickets to a Tigers Game!
