Yankees roster moves
Earlier today, the New York Yankees traded OF Taylor Trammell to the Houston Astros in exchange for cash considerations.
Trammell, 27, played in 10 combined games with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Yankees in 2024 (1-for-7, 2R, 1BB). He spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, hitting .256/.381/.488 (86-for-336) with 65R, 20 doubles, 2 triples, 18HR, 63RBI, 63BB and 20SB. Over parts of four Major League seasons with the Seattle Mariners (2021-23), Los Angeles-NL (2024) and Yankees (2024), the outfielder has hit .167 (52-for-311) with 47R, 16 doubles, 15HR, 39RBI, 40BB and 4SB. He has appeared defensively at all three outfield positions in his Major League career (centerfield ¨C 45G/38GS, right field ¨C 37G/29GS, left field ¨C 32G/24GS). The Powder Springs, Ga., native was originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds in Competitive Balance Round A (35th overall) of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. Trammell was claimed off waivers by the Yankees from Los Angeles-NL on April 18, 2024.
Additionally, the Yankees have outrighted OF Duke Ellis off the Major League roster and onto the roster of Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
