Rox, RHP Rodr¨ªguez ink Minor League deal
DENVER -- Former Giants right-handed pitcher Dereck Rodríguez has signed with the Rockies on a Minor League contract, with an invitation to Major League Spring Training, his agent announced, and the Rockies confirmed, on Monday.
The agent, Gavin Kahn of EnterSports Management, announced the deal in a tweet.
Rodr¨ªguez, 28, son of Hall of Fame catcher Ivan ¡°Pudge¡± Rodr¨ªguez, is 12-15 with a 4.27 ERA in 51 Major League games across three seasons, including 35 starts. He made two appearances (six earned runs in four innings pitched) in 2020. The Tigers claimed him Rodr¨ªguez off waivers from the Giants in late August, but he never appeared for the team.
A Twins sixth-round pick in the 2011 Draft, Rodr¨ªguez broke in with the Giants in '18 and went 6-4 with a 2.81 ERA in 21 games (19 starts), with 89 strikeouts against 36 walks in 118 1/3 innings pitched. In '19, Rodr¨ªguez went 6-11 with a 5.64 ERA in 28 games (16 starts).

He is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in three games, including two starts, at Coors Field. On Sept. 4, 2018, Rodr¨ªguez held the Rockies to one run and six hits, with six strikeouts, in six innings of a game the Giants lost, 6-2.
