The Nationals are proud to be the presenting sponsor of the DC Public Library's Summer Challenge, the District's largest summer learning loss prevention program. Summer Slugger
Summer Slugger, a Nationals education initiative, prevents the 'summer slide' by offering kids ages 8-12 baseball themed games that reinforce key math and literacy skills. Kids get to create their own customized avatar that guides them through fun, interactive games as they earn points and progress-based rewards-including Nationals tickets-as they successfully complete the program. Best of all, it is free! Visit summerslugger.com/nationals to learn more and sign up today.
Fun at Bat
The Nationals have partnered with USA Baseball to bring Fun At Bat to DMV-area schools and physical education professionals. Fun at Bat is an entry level program for kids with an emphasis on character development, functional movement, active play and fun. The initiative stems from meticulous research on introductory youth sport programs and is supported by Major League Baseball, USA Baseball and industry professionals.
NatsPrep
The Washington Nationals are proud to partner with D.C. Public Schools' Career Academies on Hospitality and Tourism to offer NatsPrep, an in-depth course for hospitality, sports promotion and event management careers. In addition to working with school leadership to develop and modernize curriculum for inside the classroom, the Nationals also work directly with students throughout the year by providing experiential seminars with Nationals executives and paid summer internship experiences for top students.
