John Seidler
Chairman
John Seidler is the Chairman and Control Person of the San Diego Padres and has been an owner of the Padres since 2012. He was appointed to his position with the Padres in 2025 succeeding Chairman and interim control person Eric Kutsenda.
John is also the Chairman and CEO of O¡¯Malley Seidler Partners, LLC, a family office that manages assets on behalf of four generations of the O¡¯Malley-Seidler family. Previously, he was the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of a firm that provided comprehensive development, engineering, construction and project management services for electric power generation projects. Over two decades, it completed 16 projects located in ten different states and two Canadian provinces.
John currently serves as a board member of Rawlings Sporting Goods, which manufactures baseball and other sports equipment.
Born in Pasadena, California, John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Santa Clara University and both a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University. John is an avid SCUBA diver and an amateur photographer and enjoys the challenge of underwater photography.
John and his wife Laurie have been married 34 years. They have three adult children ranging from 22 to 30, a son-in-law and a grandson. When their youngest started college, they bought a home in San Diego so they could attend more Padres games and now spend a majority of their time here.
