Became a relied upon member of Washington’s bullpen after making his Major League debut on July 1 at Philadelphia (1.0 IP, 2 SO)...Allowed just three extra-base hits to left-handed batters all season (2 2B, HR)…Recorded 16 strikeouts and four walks in 24 games (20.2 IP) from Aug. 10-End of the season...This came after issuing nine walks in first 15 games (13.1 IP)..Posted a .103 opponents’ average (3-for-29) across 9.1 scoreless innings from Aug. 26-Sept. 16...Within that stretch, opposing left-handed batters went 4-for-31 (.129) with zero extra-base hits from Aug. 11-Sept. 16...Earned his first Major League win, July 25 vs Colorado (1.2 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 SO)…2023 Pitch Mix: 4-Seam Fastball (71.9%) Changeup (26.3%) Slider (1.8%).

Enjoyed a breakout season, going 3-2 with 11 saves and a 2.48 ERA in 48 relief appearances between Single-A Fredericksburg, High-A Wilmington and Double-A Harrisburg...Ferrer ranked among Nationals Minor Leaguers in games (T3rd, 48) and saves (3rd, 11)…His 11 saves ranked fifth in the South Atlantic League...He posted 78 strikeouts and just 11 walks in 65.1 innings between the three stops...He was selected to participate in the 2022 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game (0.1 IP, SO)…In 22 games from June 5 to Aug. 11, he went 2-0 with six saves and a 0.86 ERA (3 ER/31.1 IP) while pitching for High-A Wilmington...This included an 18.2 scoreless innings streak from June 5 to July 10, the longest scoreless innings streak among South Atlantic League pitchers in 2022.
