The Kansas City Royals have partnered with JE Dunn and KultureCity to make all events hosted at Kauffman Stadium sensory-inclusive. Event staff at both facilities have been trained and certified to recognize guests with sensory needs and handle a sensory overload situation.

Sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads will be available to all guests who may feel overwhelmed by the environment. Fans also have access to two sensory rooms and eight quiet areas throughout the stadium.

Located in the historic 18th and Vine District, the Kansas City Royals Urban Youth Academy opened its doors in 2018 to provide access to a safe space and empower underserved youth to become the leaders of tomorrow through baseball, softball, and academic and social opportunities. The UYA surrounds youth with coaches, mentors, and role models to help them succeed on and off the field.

The Royals strive to level the field by empowering and celebrating women working in sports. We have women in roles from the C-Suite to sales to working with players directly on a day-to-day basis in baseball operations. We honor women on National Women in Sports Day in multiple ways at both the stadium and the Urban Youth Academy (UYA). Each year, we host a panel at The K to include female staff members speaking to area teens about their stories and how they obtained the position they are today. Additionally, at the UYA, we invite all girls and women to be celebrated and empower them with the confidence, strength, and character gained through sports participation to become strong leaders in sports and life.

We honor Jackie as all clubs do on Jackie Robinson Day by supporting and wearing the number 42. However, Kansas Citians have a different affinity for Jackie; before he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, he played right here in Kansas City for the Monarchs. We honor Jackie in a number of ways each year, including a traveling showcase with enclosed artifacts. We share his incredible story, not only about when he was in Brooklyn but also about the impact he had on Kansas City.

In honor of Jackie Robinson Day, the Kansas City Royals host an annual sports career panel called Club 42, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. The event gives students an opportunity to hear from a diverse panel of Front Office staff and their experience working in professional sports.

The Royals Theme Tickets provide an opportunity for all different markets and groups to celebrate the multitude of communities and heritage we have in Kansas City. With the purchase, fans receive an exclusive promotional item and pre-game access to speak with different support organizations at The K and participate in pre-game festivities. Some of the different theme nights include Pride Night, Asian American Heritage Night, Jewish Heritage Night, Italian Heritage Night, and Irish Heritage Night.

We provide advocacy and support of many different organizations, from grants to event support for causes and organizations such as Cinco De Mayo, Juneteenth Parade, The Heartland Black Chamber, The Hispanic Chamber, KC Chamber, Asian Chamber, LGBTQ Chamber, Downtown Council, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and many others.

In honor of Black History Month, the Kansas City Royals Foundation pays the admission fee for all at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for the month of February. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) is the world¡¯s only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African American baseball and its impact on the social advancement of America.
