July 31: Yankees 4, Marlins 2 -- Rizzo makes Yankees history
Anthony Rizzo reached base in all five plate appearances (two hits, two walks, one hit by pitch). He reached base three times in his Yankees debut (two hits, one walk) on July 30. No other player in Yankees history has reached base eight times in his first two games with the team.

July 30: Yankees 3, Marlins 1 -- S¨¢nchez reaches big 5-0-0
Catcher Gary S¨¢nchez played in his 500th career game on Friday night. His 132 home runs trail only Ryan Howard's 153 and Aaron Judge's 138 homers for the most in Major League history through 500 career games.

July 29: Rays 14, Yankees 0 -- Rare stat line for Cole
Gerrit Cole is the first pitcher to strike out 10 or more batters and allow eight or more runs in the same regular-season game since Zack Greinke on June 16, 2011. Clayton Kershaw also did it in Game 1 of the 2014 NLDS. Cole is the second in Yankees history to do it, joining Hippo Vaughn on April 13, 1912.

July 28: Yankees 3, Rays 1 (10) -- Three or fewer
With five innings of one-run ball from Nestor Cortes, Yankees starters have allowed three runs or fewer in 18 consecutive starts, their longest single-season streak since Aug. 22-Sept. 9, 1981 (18 games). The rotation has posted a 2.03 ERA (97 1/3 innings, 22 earned runs) over the course of the current streak.

July 27: Yankees 4, Rays 3 -- Another DJ day
DJ LeMahieu's first-inning double extended his on-base streak to 36 games dating back to June 10, the longest single-season on-base streak in the Majors since 2019. LeMahieu is two shy of his career-best streak of 38 games (2016). LeMahieu's string is the longest by a Yankee since Mark Teixeira reached base in 42 straight games in 2010.

July 25: Red Sox 5, Yankees 4 -- Odor's sweet swing
Rougned Odor hit his 12th homer of the season in the loss. Over his past 18 games, Odor is batting .322 (19-for-59) with five homers and 15 RBIs.

July 24: Yankees 4, Red Sox 3 -- Yanks starters get it done
Yankees starting pitchers have allowed three runs or fewer in each of their last 15 games, tying their longest stretch of the season (April 26-May 12). They own a 2.24 ERA over the span, with 86 strikeouts.

July 23: Red Sox 6, Yankees 2 -- DJ one shy of D.J.
DJ LeMahieu's seventh-inning single extended his on-base streak to 33 games. It's the longest single-season on-base streak by a Yankee since Derek Jeter had a 34-gamer in 2012 (Aug. 27-Oct. 3).

July 22: Red Sox 5, Yankees 4 (10) -- Four wild pitches in 10th
Reliever Brooks Kriske threw four wild pitches in the 10th inning to become the first pitcher in Major League history to throw four wild pitches in an extra inning. Kriske's four wild pitches also established a Yankees franchise record for any inning.

July 21: Yankees 6, Phillies 5 (10) -- Historic surname
Asher Wojciechowski tied infielder Bill Knickerbocker for the most letters in a last name in Yankees history (13). Knickerbocker appeared in 97 games for New York from 1938-40 and played 10 seasons for five teams.

July 20: Yankees 6, Phillies 4 -- Gardy party vs. Philly
Brett Gardner made his one hit count on Tuesday night, smacking a go-ahead solo homer in the fifth inning. In 17 career games against the Phillies, he owns a career .370/.452/.759 (20-for-54) slash line with 13 runs, two doubles, two triples, five homers, 12 RBIs and eight walks. That is the highest career batting average vs. a single opponent for the 14-year big league veteran.

July 18: Yankees 9, Red Sox 1 -- Cruising on the bump
Yankees starters have posted a 1.98 ERA (54 2/3 IP, 12 ER) and 59 strikeouts in their last 10 starts. They have allowed three runs or fewer in each of those starts.

July 17: Yankees 3, Red Sox 1 -- Yanks go back to back
Gary S¨¢nchez and Gleyber Torres hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning. It marked the third time Yankees batters have hit back-to-back home runs this season (also S¨¢nchez and Clint Frazier in the first inning on May 16 at Baltimore, and Gio Urshela and Mike Ford in the fourth inning on April 25 at Cleveland).

July 16: Red Sox 4, Yankees 0 -- Looking for runs
Jordan Montgomery's five straight starts with zero runs of support ties the longest streaks in Yankees history: Bill Short (May 10-July 31, 1960) and Fritz Peterson (June 11-July 3, 1967).

July 11: Astros 8, Yankees 7 -- Tough to close
This is the first season in franchise history that the Yankees have lost multiple games when leading by four or more runs entering the ninth inning (also June 30 vs. Angels). The Yankees are the only team in the Majors this season to lose in that fashion (other clubs are 493-0).

July 10: Yankees 1, Astros 0 -- Good company for Gerrit
Gerrit Cole became just the fifth Yankee to throw a complete-game shutout with 12 or more strikeouts in a 1-0 game, and the first since Mike Mussina's near-perfect game in 2001. The others are Red Ruffing (1932), Whitey Ford (1959) and Stan Bahnsen (1968).

July 9: Yankees 4, Astros 0 -- 500 for Judge
Aaron Judge's ninth-inning double was his 500th regular-season hit, coming in his 506th career game. Judge is the second-fastest Yankee to reach the milestone in terms of games played, behind only Joe DiMaggio (395).

July 8: Mariners 4, Yankees 0 -- Take your base
DJ LeMahieu was hit by a pitch in the ninth inning, extending his on-base streak to 24 games since June 10. Over that span, LeMahieu has slashed .313/.387/.475 with four doubles, four homers and 19 RBIs.

July 7: Yankees 5, Mariners 4 -- Dominance in Seattle
The Yankees have won 10 consecutive series at T-Mobile Park dating back to 2011, which ties a franchise record for road dominance against a single club. The Yanks also had 10 straight road series wins over the Red Sox at Fenway Park from 1930-33, according to STATS.

July 6: Yankees 12, Mariners 1 -- Odor owns T-Mobile Park
Rougned Odor hit his ninth home run for the Yankees this season, but before he joined them in April, he used to do his damage in the American League West. He seems to have a particular affinity for launching blasts in Seattle, as his three-run shot in the series opener was his 12th career home run at T-Mobile Park, his most at any ballpark as a visitor.

July 4: Yankees 4, Mets 2 (Game 2) -- Green's immaculate inning
Chad Green struck out the side on nine pitches in the seventh inning of the second game of a seven-inning doubleheader, marking the second immaculate inning by a Yankees pitcher this season. Michael King also tossed one in the fourth inning on June 4 vs. Boston. Green is the sixth Yankees pitcher since 2000 to throw an immaculate inning.

July 3: Mets 8, Yankees 3 -- Sweet Subway Series relief from King
With four scoreless innings on Saturday, Michael King became the first Yankees reliever with at least nine strikeouts and no runs allowed since Steve Hamilton on May 11, 1963, against the Orioles.
