The Tampa Bay Rays are committed to a safe and secure environment at the ballpark. Please review the important security information below regarding our Clear Bag Policy, prohibited items, and our Fan Code of Conduct prior to arriving at Steinbrenner Field.
The Tampa Bay Rays have introduced a CLEAR BAG POLICY for 2025. A clear bag policy enhances the fan experience by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of security screening and is a well-established best practice at professional sports venues.
Permitted Bags:
One Clear Bag (plastic, vinyl, or soft PVC) with no obscured interior pockets per person
- Clear Bag cannot exceed 12¡± x 6¡± x 12¡±
- Clear Bag should be a single compartment
- Clear Bag may have handles or straps
- Plastic Storage Bag (reusable, clear) 1 Gallon size are acceptable
One Small, Single pocket Clutch/Wallet/Fanny Pack is permitted per person
- No larger than 5¡± x 7¡±
- Does NOT have to be clear or transparent
- Item may have a handle or strap
OR - One of the exceptions to the Clear Bag Policy per person:
(1) Bag exclusively carrying necessary medical equipment
(2) Diaper/Infant Bag not exceeding 16¡± x 8¡± x 16¡± when in the presence of a baby or toddler
Not Permitted:
The following bags and items are specifically NOT approved and expressly prohibited:
- Any non-transparent bags ¨C all bags must be CLEAR
- Backpacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags, briefcases, or similar
- Hard sided bags, boxes or containers
- Fanny packs, clutches, wallets, or any other bag or purse larger than the permissible size of 5¡±x7¡±
Please note that there are no storage options for bags that do not comply with the CLEAR BAG POLICY. Fans will be asked to return non-compliant bags to their vehicles.
To promote a safe and enjoyable game experience, security screening takes place prior to entering the ballpark. The following items are prohibited at Steinbrenner Field for Tampa Bay Rays games:
Bags that are not transparent or do not comply with the CLEAR BAG POLICY
Hard-sided coolers, boxes, or cases of any size
Umbrellas or anything else that could obstruct the view of other fans
Alcoholic beverages
Outside food or drinks, except for one sealed bottle of water (20 ounces or less) per ticketed fan
- Empty reusable water bottles up to 44 ounces are permitted inside the stadium. They must be made of plastic, not stainless steel, metal, ceramic, glass or other materials. Water bottle refill stations are located throughout the stadium.
Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives or chemical sprays larger than .6 ounce
Fireworks or other explosives
Items that could be projectiles
Cameras with lenses longer than 12¡±
Bullhorns, percussion instruments, air horns, whistles and other excessively loud noisemakers. (The long tradition of small cowbells being allowed at Rays games will continue)
Drones
Radio-controlled devices
Lasers
Audio speakers
Bats
Brooms over 36" long
Wrapped packages
Footwear with wheels
Clothing or signs with obscene or derogatory language or gestures
Pets, except service animals
Any item deemed to pose risk to the health or safety of others or cannot be thoroughly screened and cleared by security
Prohibited items will not be stored. If you have any of these items with you, they may be returned to your vehicle or discarded.
We are glad to welcome you to Steinbrenner Field and are committed to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment. The Fan Code of Conduct is intended to address behavior that is inconsistent with these goals and detracts from the ballpark experience.
Violation of the Fan Code of Conduct can be addressed by verbal warnings, ejections, future denied entry, and/or arrest.
- Drink responsibly. Do not consume alcohol if you are underage.
- Restricted Areas: Do not enter restricted areas in or around the stadium ¨C including the playing field or service areas.
- Fan Interference: Major League Baseball rules require that fans not go onto the field, throw objects onto the field, or interfere with balls still in play.
- Sit only in your ticketed seat and stay alert for bats, balls or other objects leaving the field of play. Baseballs hit or thrown into the stands can be dangerous.
- Clothing and footwear are required to be worn at all times while at Steinbrenner Field.
- Steinbrenner Field is a smoke-free facility. The use of tobacco products of any kind, e-cigarettes, vapes, or chewing tobacco is not permitted on property.
- Fans are not permitted to bring outside food or drinks into Steinbrenner Field. One sealed bottle of water (20 ounces or less) is permitted per ticketed fan.
- Respect your fellow fans. Derogatory, threatening, or obscene language, gestures or behavior will not be tolerated.
- Threats of violence or abusive language related to sports betting directed at players, players families, club personnel, or umpires will not be tolerated.
- Solicitation by any fan for contributions or donations or the distribution of literature or other items on ballpark property is prohibited.
- Banners and signs are permitted and may be displayed in the stadium if they are baseball related, do not interfere with the playing field or other ballpark signage, or inhibit the view of other fans. Derogatory language, gestures, or symbols are not permitted on signs. Management reserves the right to remove any sign displayed on the property.
- Beach balls, Frisbees and other objects cannot be thrown in the stadium and are prohibited.
- Radios, laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices are allowed in the ballpark when used with personal headphones.
The use of a personal still and video camera is permitted so long as it does not obstruct or interfere with other fans. Tripods or similar stabilization poles are prohibited. Pictures and video must be for your private, non-commercial use.
