Our History

Arizona is the culmination of new people, cultures, businesses, and sports. For people and businesses, settling into a new environment takes time and effort, let alone sports teams. It can take years, sometimes decades, for fans to get behind a new sports franchise. The Diamondbacks took on this task when we were born into the National League in 1998. However, we were quick to captivate the love and attention of Arizonan��s everywhere. As the quickest expansion team in MLB history to capture the sports highest honor, the World Series, we also captured the memories and love of many fans in an incredibly emotional 2001 championship. These types of memories are what we strive to reproduce each season on the field, and in any other association of our brand. Being a part of our fan��s lives is something we cherish and place an enormous value on.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

With such an emphasis on inclusion, diversity, and giving back within the organization and the community, Team Player Resource Groups were created. In these groups, Team Players can share and engage in different cultures or lifestyles. Raising awareness, giving back to the community, and sharing experiences are key cogs of these groups, which are widely popular all throughout the organization. Overall, we believe that Team Players play a role in embracing difference and doing so will produce community and workplace.

Community Relations

Play Ball Fund

The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation are devoted to youth sports across Arizona. During the 2018 season, the D-backs Give Back PLAY BALL Fund, supported by Chase, will support the outstanding efforts of Arizona's dedicated parents, mentors and coaches to expand the game of baseball and softball by donating $60,000 to youth sports leagues. Our goal is to ensure that every child who has a desire to learn and play the D-backs way -- has that opportunity.

Military Initiatives

The Arizona Diamondbacks are proud to collaborate with, and give back to, a variety of military-focused organizations and initiatives that work tirelessly to honor and support our military heroes. Funds raised by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation benefit a variety of local, military organizations.
