Snapshots from the 15th annual Phillies Charities 5K presented by Fox Chase Cancer Center
What a great day for the Phillies Charities 5K presented by Fox Chase Cancer Center at Citizens Bank Park!
On Sunday, March 23, thousands of runners lined up at the starting line on Phillies Drive, decked out in Phillies gear to show their excitement for the upcoming baseball season. Leading the festivities was the Phillie Phanatic, who revved up his four-wheeler for the occasion, as runners sprinted around the ballpark and Navy Yard.
As participants raced around the course, they were also surprised with some Phillies fun along the way, receiving high-fives from Phoebe Phanatic (the Phanatic¡¯s mom) and club ambassadors Dickie Noles and Milt Thompson. Phillies Ballgirls also passed out medals to all the finishers, with two South Jersey residents capturing the Phillies Charities 5K first place title: Tom Cooke (Men¡¯s First-Place Finisher), age 30, from West Deptford, NJ, who finished the race in 15:03 and Erica Green (Women¡¯s First-Place Finisher), age 35, from Collingswood, NJ (her second time winning the race) at 17:49.
Congratulations to all the Phillies Charities 5K runners!
