BasebALL: One Game for All

Now in its seventh season advocating for diversity and inclusion in sports, the White Sox Game Changers series, presented by Modelo Especial and Saint Xavier University, has featured leading community voices focused on creating meaningful change and empowering diverse community groups. In 2023, the series also began showcasing compelling stories about sports and culture through the visual perspective and lens of photographers.

The capstone of 2023 programming, Game Changers Summit: Strengthening the Body AND Mind in Sports Culture, in partnership with Women In Sports + Events (WISE), brought together mental health professionals from across the sports industry to discuss the pressures of performance both on and off the field. The event featured conversations surrounding the subjects of ¡°strong¡± athletes/professionals, as well as how we can cultivate a sports and modern-day workplace culture that prioritizes mental health.

Ballpark programming focused on inclusivity, including various cultural celebrations and heritage nights, welcomes fans and communities of all backgrounds for meaningful and memorable connection.

Hispanic community involvement: The White Sox have participated in dozens of local events alongside Hispanic community partners, including Chosen Few DJs, Fiesta del Sol, the Mexican Independence Day Parade with the Little Village Chamber of Commerce, among others.

African American community involvement: The organization also has created programming to honor the history and achievements of African Americans who helped forge a path in baseball and beyond. This support includes initiatives such as the Jackie Robinson Student Contest, content partnerships with historian Shermann Dilla Thomas among other notable influencers, the Double Duty Classic, the RBI and ACE youth baseball programs and events commemorating the Negro Leagues.
