A signature program for the White Sox, the Volunteer Corps serves as a way to unite White Sox fans through service opportunities within our community. The White Sox Volunteer Corps was created in 2009 by the Chicago White Sox in response to a call for Americans to better their communities through service. The team organizes community outreach events that incorporate support from current and former players, coaches, Southpaw, front office staff and members of the volunteer group to serve shoulder-to-shoulder to make Chicago a better place to live, work and play.
Now in its second decade of making a positive, transformational impact on individuals and organizations in neighborhoods across the city of Chicago and surrounding communities, the White Sox Volunteer Corps has rallied more than 5,000 Sox fans at over 550 events. From large-scale renovation projects at Chicago based schools and Boys & Girls Clubs and neighborhood playground builds to distributing food at local pantries and sorting books to help create home libraries, the Volunteer Corps has logged 54,000+ hours of service - a value of more than $1.2 million in labor!
