Jackie Robinson Student Contest

The ninth annual Jackie Robinson Student Contest invites parents/legal guardians/teachers of Illinois and Indiana students grades 1 to 12 to showcase their creativity by entering graphic designs, art, videos, poetry or essays about an individual in the past who helped build a path forward for all in baseball. This contest is one of several White Sox youth-focused initiatives and key historical awareness efforts under the organization��s diversity and inclusion umbrella.

Fifty (50) First Prize winners will each receive:

Up to five (5) tickets for the White Sox home game on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 - MLB's recognition of Jackie Robinson Day.
Select submissions will be showcased throughout the game on the video board during the game at Rate Field.

Three (3) Grand Prize winners will each receive:

A VIP suite experience and up to five (5) tickets to Jackie Robinson Day at Rate Field on Tuesday, April 15, 2025
Invitation to a pre-game ceremony recognition
An in-game recognition of their creative work on the centerfield videoboard

Contest Details:

Participants are eligible to submit their creative entry during the contest period from February 24, 2025 through March 28, 2025. Winners will be notified via email.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Starts at 9:00 a.m. CT on February 24, 2025 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT on March 28, 2025. Open to legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and the parent/legal guardian or Teacher of a child enrolled in school grades one (1) through twelve (12). Teachers must receive parent/legal guardian permission prior to entering. TRAVEL NOT INCLUDED. Fifty-three (53) prizes to be awarded. Online entry only. Limit one (1) entry per person. How to Enter

Step 1

Upload one of the following types of creative submissions with the form below, using a file format as indicated:

Photography (digital, black & white, color) - jpg, jpeg, png
Graphic Art (drawing, painting, graphic design, etc.) - gif, jpg, jpeg, pdf, png
Written (poetry or essay) - doc, docx, pdf
Audio/Video (animation, documentary, narrative) - aac, avi, mov, mp3, mp4
- All entries must be either uploaded using the below form
- Entries must be in the English language; if an essay, must not exceed 800 words; if a video, must not exceed two (2) minutes in length

Step 2

To enter, you must complete and submit the form below. As applicable, a parent/legal guardian or teacher must submit the form for any minors.

Eligibility

All creative work must be made by students in 1st - 12th grades.
All creative work submitted is required to be original work.
The contest is only open to legal residents of Illinois and Indiana.

Judging

Creative work will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Factual accuracy
Relevance to contest theme
Originality
Clarity of expression

Sizing

The final creative pieces must not exceed the following file sizes:

Documents (max. 5 MB)
Images (max. 10 MB)
Audio (max. 10 MB)
Video (max. 20 MB)

Rules

All entrants must comply with the Official Rules. All formats of creative work will be accepted beginning February 24, 2025 and ending March 28, 2025. Winners will be notified via email.
