Freddie Freeman, Dodgers
Freeman is experiencing swelling in his surgically-repaired right ankle after a "mishap" at home, per manager Dave Roberts. He was out of the lineup again on April 1 and is considered day to day.
Reynaldo L¨®pez and Sean Murphy, Braves
L¨®pez was placed on the 15-day IL on March 31 due to right shoulder inflammation and is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery to determine whether he has sustained any structural damage.
Murphy (cracked left rib) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on April 1.
Sean Manaea, Mets
An MRI revealed inflammation in Manaea's right oblique after he experienced discomfort while ramping up, manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on April 1. The left-hander received a PRP injection and will be shut down for two weeks.
Lance McCullers Jr., Astros
McCullers (right flexor tendon surgery) is expected to make his next rehab start on April 5 with Double-A Corpus Christi.
Alexis D¨ªaz, Tyler Stephenson, Austin Hays and Andrew Abbott, Reds
D¨ªaz (left hamstring strain) threw a simulated inning of about 15 pitches before the Reds' April 1 game against the Rangers.
Stephenson's left oblique strain showed "vast improvement" in his latest MRI, manager Terry Francona said on March 29. The catcher has another MRI scheduled for April 7.
The Reds expect Hays to return from his strained left calf after their first road trip of the season (April 3-9).
Abbott (left shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on April 1.
Zack Gelof, Athletics
Gelof (right hamate bone fracture) has begun light workouts as of April 1 but has not resumed baseball activities.
Tomoyuki Sugano, Colton Cowser, Gunnar Henderson and Albert Su¨¢rez, Orioles
Sugano exited his MLB debut on March 30 prior to the start of the fifth inning due to cramping in his right hand.
Cowser also came out of the March 30 game with an injury, suffering a fractured left thumb on a slide into first base in the seventh inning. He was placed on the 10-day IL on March 31 and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
Henderson (mild right intercostal strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on March 28 and could return as early as this week.
Su¨¢rez was placed on the 15-day IL on March 30 with right shoulder inflammation.
Max Scherzer, Blue Jays
Scherzer was placed on the 15-day injured list with right thumb inflammation on March 30, one day after exiting his Blue Jays debut early due to lat soreness related to his recurring thumb issue.
Josh Jung, Rangers
Jung was placed on the 10-day IL due to neck spasms on March 30, retroactive to March 29.
Trea Turner and Ranger Su¨¢rez, Phillies
Turner was scratched from the Phillies' lineup on March 29 because of a lower back spasm. He remained out on March 30 and 31 but is hoping to be back on April 2.
Su¨¢rez (low back stiffness) threw a 26-pitch bullpen session on March 29. He was scheduled to throw an up-and-down bullpen session on April 1.
Zach Neto, Angels
Neto (right shoulder surgery) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on April 2, where he will serve exclusively as a DH for the time being.
Gleyber Torres, Tigers
Torres was placed on the 10-day IL on March 31 (retroactive to March 29th) with a left oblique strain.
Aaron Civale, Brewers
Civale exited his March 30 start against the Yankees after three innings and 68 pitches due to left hamstring cramping. He was placed on the 15-day IL on March 31.
Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito, Red Sox
Bello (right shoulder inflammation) began a Triple-A rehab assignment April 1. Giolito (left hamstring strain) could begin his rehab assignment on or around April 2.
Austin Gomber, Rockies
Gomber (left shoulder soreness) started for Triple-A Albuquerque on March 28. He's scheduled to make another rehab start on April 2 and will be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list on April 8.
