Josh Lowe, Shane McClanahan and Richie Palacios, Rays
After recording his first hit in his second at-bat of the season on March 28, Lowe exited the game due to right oblique discomfort.
McClanahan has been placed on the 15-day injured list with nerve irritation in his left triceps.
Palacios suffered a small fracture in the tip of his right ring finger in mid-March while completing drills. He hoped to be ready for Opening Day but was placed on the IL on March 26, retroactive to March 24.
Gunnar Henderson, Grayson Rodriguez and Jorge Mateo, Orioles
Henderson (mild right intercostal strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on March 28and could return as early as next week.
Rodriguez (right elbow inflammation), who is now routinely playing catch from 75 feet, was placed on the 15-day IL on March 27.
Mateo (left UCL reconstruction surgery) was included on the Orioles' active roster for Opening Day.
Tony Gonsolin, Evan Phillips, Clayton Kershaw, Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers
Gonsolin (back tightness) has progressed to facing live hitters.
Phillips (torn muscle in right rotator cuff) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and facing live hitters. He will continue his rehab in Arizona after the Dodgers' ring ceremony on March 28.
Kershaw (recovery from left toe and left knee surgeries) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and is set to face live hitters for the first time on March 29.
Ohtani (recovery from right elbow surgery) will throw a bullpen session on March 29, his first since Feb. 25.
Nick Gonzales, Jared Jones and Spencer Horwitz, Pirates
Gonzales suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left ankle after homering in the sixth inning on Opening Day.
Jones (right elbow UCL sprain) has no torn ligaments in his elbow and will not require surgery, sources told MLB.com. He will instead go six weeks without throwing.
Horwitz (right wrist surgery) was placed on the 10-day injured list on March 27, retroactive to March 24.
Tanner Bibee, Guardians
Bibee was scheduled to start on Opening Day for Cleveland, but he was scratched due to an illness hours before first pitch.
Ranger Su¨¢rez, Phillies
Su¨¢rez (low back stiffness) has been placed on the 15-day IL. The left-hander will be eligible to be activated as early as April 8, but he will need more time than that, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said on March 24.
Vinnie Pasquantino, Alec Marsh, James McArthur and Kyle Wright, Royals
Pasquantino (right hamstring strain) was in the starting lineup as the DH for Opening Day.
Marsh (right shoulder impingement), McArthur (right elbow surgery) and Wright (right shoulder surgery) were placed on the 15-day injured list on March 27.
Jordan Montgomery, Kevin Ginkel and Kendall Graveman, D-backs
Montgomery said on March 25 that he will undergo Tommy John surgery next week, ending his 2025 season.
Ginkel was placed on the 15-day IL with right shoulder inflammation on March 27, retroactive to March 24, but manager Torey Lovullo said he does not expect Ginkel to miss much more than the required 15 days of his IL stint.
Graveman (lumbar strain) was also placed on the 15-day IL on March 27. He is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on April 1 and will be re-evaluated then.
Sean Murphy, Braves
Murphy (cracked left rib) has been cleared to resume some baseball activities and is taking dry swings.
Lucas Giolito, Brayan Bello, Kutter Crawford, Liam Hendriks and Masataka Yoshida, Red Sox
Giolito (left hamstring strain), Bello (right shoulder inflammation), Crawford (right patellar tendinopathy) and Hendriks (right elbow inflammation) have been placed on the 15-day injured list.
Yoshida (right shoulder labrum tear) was placed on the 10-day injured list on March 27, retroactive to March 24. He is expected to join Triple-A Worcester for a rehab assignment around April 1.
Clarke Schmidt, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu and Ian Hamilton, Yankees
Schmidt has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right rotator cuff tendonitis. He has also been dealing with back stiffness, general manager Brian Cashman said.
Stanton has been placed on the 10-day IL with right and left elbow epicondylitis. He has still not resumed baseball activities as of March 22 and said March 8 that his tendon injuries are considered ¡°severe in both elbows." Stanton received a third round of PRP injections on March 10.
LeMahieu (left calf strain) and Hamilton (viral illness) also have been placed on the IL.
Austin Hays, Tyler Stephenson, Alexis D¨ªaz, Andrew Abbott and Spencer Steer, Reds
Hays (left calf strain), Stephenson (left oblique strain), D¨ªaz (left hamstring strain) and Abbott (left shoulder rotator cuff strain) have been placed on the injured list.
Steer (right shoulder soreness) was initially expected to miss Opening Day, but the Reds reversed plans to have him begin the year on the IL. He was in the starting lineup as the DH for Cincinnati's season opener.
Paul Blackburn, Frankie Montas and Francisco Alvarez, Mets
Blackburn (right knee inflammation) is currently in a period of 7-10 days without throwing but shouldn't need a long ramp-up period once he's healthy.
Montas (high-grade right lat strain) is still not throwing, although a follow-up MRI in late March showed good progress. He will need a full, Spring Training-style buildup once he's recovered.
Alvarez (fractured left hamate bone) had his stitches removed on March 24, and if all goes well, he could return to the Mets in late April.
Luis Garcia and Lance McCullers Jr., Astros
Garcia (Tommy John surgery) will seek a second opinion about the right elbow soreness that scratched him from a live batting practice session on March 20.
McCullers (right flexor tendon surgery) threw 1 2/3 innings and 33 pitches in a Minor League game on March 24. He is on track to make his next start with Triple-A Sugar Land.
Edward Cabrera, Declan Cronin, Ryan Weathers, Jes¨²s S¨¢nchez and Connor Norby, Marlins
Cabrera (right middle finger blister), Cronin (left hip strain), Weathers (left forearm strain), S¨¢nchez (left oblique strain) and Norby (left oblique strain) have been placed on the injured list.
Zack Gelof, Athletics
Gelof was scheduled to undergo surgery on March 24 to address a hook of the hamate fracture of his right hand and will be sidelined through at least the first month of the season.
Parker Meadows, Wenceel P¨¦rez, Matt Vierling and Alex Cobb, Tigers
Meadows (right upper arm nerve discomfort) was placed on the 60-day injured list on March 24. He will refrain from throwing for four weeks after undergoing a nerve conduction test, but he has begun daily conditioning, defensive drills and rehab.
P¨¦rez (back inflammation) is scheduled to receive the first of two cortisone injections on March 28 and is expected to miss at least a month.
Vierling (right rotator cuff muscle strain) began a hitting progression the week of March 17 and was cleared to advance his shoulder strengthening program after a three-week checkup exam.
Cobb (right hip inflammation) was scheduled to throw his fourth bullpen session of the spring on March 26.
Max Scherzer, Daulton Varsho, Erik Swanson and Ryan Burr, Blue Jays
Scherzer (right thumb soreness) threw four scoreless innings on 62 pitches on March 22 in Fort Myers and reported feeling good the following day.
Varsho (right shoulder surgery) continues to ramp up his throwing and is targeting a return to the big leagues at some point in April. He was placed on the 10-day IL on March 27, retroactive to March 24.
Swanson (right median nerve entrapment) and Burr (right shoulder inflammation) have been placed on the 15-day IL.
Yu Darvish, Matt Waldron, Sean Reynolds, Bryan Hoeing and Jhony Brito, Padres
Darvish (right elbow inflammation) played light catch at Petco Park during the Padres' workout day on March 26. He was placed on the 15-day IL on March 27, along with Waldron (left oblique strain), Reynolds (right foot stress reaction), Hoeing (right shoulder strain) and Brito (right forearm strain).
Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee, Brock Stewart and Michael Tonkin, Twins
Lewis (left hamstring strain), Lee (lumbar strain), Stewart (left hamstring strain) and Tonkin (right shoulder strain) have been placed on the injured list.
Jerar Encarnacion, Giants
Encarnacion will miss an extended period of the regular season with a hairline fracture in his left hand and is scheduled to undergo surgery the week of March 24.
Austin Gomber and Thairo Estrada, Rockies
Gomber (left shoulder soreness) is scheduled to start for Triple-A Albuquerque on March 28 and April 3 and will be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list on April 8.
Estrada suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right wrist and will miss ¡°anywhere from 4-8 weeks,¡± manager Bud Black said March 21.
Drew Thorpe, Mike Tauchman and Josh Rojas, White Sox
Thorpe will undergo Tommy John surgery in the near future, the White Sox announced on March 22.
Tauchman (right hamstring strain) and Rojas (hairline fracture in right big toe) have been placed on the 10-day injured list.
