AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST

BLUE JAYS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Bo Bichette, SS
2. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 1B
3. Anthony Santander, LF
4. Andrés Giménez, 2B
5. Alejandro Kirk, C
6. George Springer, CF
7. Will Wagner, DH
8. Ernie Clement, 3B
9. Alan Roden, RF

Joey Loperfido had a shot to win some reps in center but he was optioned on March 21, and Springer gets the nod for the team's opener. Wagner could mix in at multiple positions, and No. 5 prospect Alan Roden made a fantastic impression in camp.

Rotation/Closer
1. José Berríos, RHP
2. Kevin Gausman, RHP
3. Chris Bassitt, RHP
4. Max Scherzer, RHP
5. Bowden Francis, RHP
CL: Jeff Hoffman, RHP

This is a fine-looking group, especially with Yariel Rodríguez ready to step in when needed, and Scherzer's signing adds a fascinating dynamic to a group that was already leaning on savvy veterans. -- Keegan Matheson

ORIOLES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Colton Cowser, LF
2. Adley Rutschman, C
3. Jordan Westburg, 2B
4. Ryan O'Hearn, DH
5. Tyler O'Neill, RF
6. Ryan Mountcastle, 1B
7. Cedric Mullins, CF
8. Ram¨®n Ur¨ªas, 3B
9. Jackson Holliday, SS

Gunnar Henderson (mild right intercostal strain) didn't play in a Grapefruit League game after Feb. 27, and the 23-year-old begins the season on the injured list. Henderson did take live batting practice recently, and the team hopes that a short stay on the injured list now means the injury won't linger very long during the season.

Rotation/Closer
1. Zach Eflin, RHP
2. Charlie Morton, RHP
3. Dean Kremer, RHP
4. Tomoyuki Sugano, RHP
5. Cade Povich, LHP
CL: Félix Bautista, RHP

Grayson Rodriguez will open the season on the injured list due to inflammation near the back of his right elbow. Albert Suárez is headed for the bullpen because of a strong spring performance by Povich, who will start the home opener and gives the O's a lefty in their rotation. Recent free-agent signee Kyle Gibson will need to be built up before eventually joining the staff. -- Jake Rill

RAYS

Projected lineup
1. Yandy Díaz, DH
2. Brandon Lowe, 2B
3. Junior Caminero, 3B
4. Josh Lowe, RF
5. Christopher Morel, LF
6. Curtis Mead, 1B
7. Danny Jansen, C
8. Taylor Walls, SS
9. Jonny DeLuca, CF

This lineup looks a lot like the one that the Rays finished last season with, aside from the addition of Jansen and DeLuca replacing Jose Siri in center field. Free-agent addition Ha-Seong Kim (right shoulder surgery) will start the season on the IL.

Rotation/Closer
1. Ryan Pepiot, RHP
2. Taj Bradley, RHP
3. Drew Rasmussen, RHP
4. Shane Baz, RHP
5. Zack Littell, RHP
CL: Pete Fairbanks, RHP

The Rays entered the spring with six top starters competing for five spots, but nerve irritation in Shane McClanahan's left triceps took him out of contention. The timetable for his return is uncertain. -- Adam Berry

RED SOX

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Jarren Duran, LF
2. Rafael Devers, DH
3. Alex Bregman, 3B
4. Triston Casas, 1B
5. Trevor Story, SS
6. Kristian Campbell, 2B
7. Wilyer Abreu, RF
8. Connor Wong, C
9. Ceddanne Rafaela, CF

With Bregman¡¯s big right-handed bat added to the mix, Devers is expected to DH most of the time. Boston¡¯s lineup looks loaded. The only question remaining is who will play second base, but on Opening Day, that assignment goes to Campbell, one of the top prospects in the game.

Rotation/Closer
1. Garrett Crochet, LHP
2. Tanner Houck, RHP
3. Walker Buehler, RHP
4. Richard Fitts, RHP
5. Sean Newcomb, LHP
CL: Aroldis Chapman, LHP

Blossoming ace Crochet (acquired through trade) and veteran Buehler should help the rotation take a big leap, though injuries to Brayan Bello, Kutter Crawford and Lucas Giolito will test Boston's depth out of the gate. -- Ian Browne

YANKEES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Austin Wells, C
2. Aaron Judge, RF
3. Cody Bellinger, CF
4. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
5. Jazz Chisholm Jr., 2B
6. Jasson Domínguez, LF
7. Anthony Volpe, SS
8. Ben Rice, DH
9. Oswaldo Cabrera, 3B

The Yankees have played more than 18,000 games in their history, and they've never had a catcher bat leadoff. That changes Opening Day, as manager Aaron Boone looks to take advantage of Wells' on-base potential.

Rotation/Closer
1. Carlos Rodón, LHP
2. Max Fried, LHP
3. Marcus Stroman, RHP
4. Will Warren, RHP
5. Carlos Carrasco, RHP
CL: Devin Williams, RHP

The Bombers' pitching depth has been slammed this spring, with Gerrit Cole out for the 2025 season because of Tommy John surgery and AL Rookie of the Year Luis Gil lost for at least three months to a right lat strain. Good thing they signed Fried to an eight-year, $218 million deal as part of their post-Juan Soto pivot. -- Bryan Hoch

AL CENTRAL

GUARDIANS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Steven Kwan, LF
2. Jos¨¦ Ram¨ªrez, 3B
3. Lane Thomas, CF
4. Carlos Santana, 1B
5. Kyle Manzardo, DH
6. Jhonkensy Noel, RF
7. Bo Naylor, C
8. Gabriel Arias, 2B
9. Brayan Rocchio, SS

Arias and Daniel Schneemann are set to receive the bulk of the reps at second base to begin the season. Other Guardians second-base candidates this spring included Juan Brito (Cleveland's No. 10 prospect, per MLB Pipeline), who was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, and Tyler Freeman, who was traded to the Rockies on Saturday for outfielder Nolan Jones.

Rotation/Closer
1. Tanner Bibee, RHP
2. Luis Ortiz, RHP
3. Gavin Williams, RHP
4. Ben Lively, RHP
5. Logan Allen, LHP
CL: Emmanuel Clase, RHP

Bibee was on track to make his first career Opening Day start, but he was scratched just hours before first pitch with an illness; Ben Lively earned the Opening Day nod in his place. Allen won the fifth starter job after recording a 1.89 ERA in 19 innings over six games (three starts) during Cactus League play. -- Tim Stebbins

ROYALS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Jonathan India, 3B
2. Bobby Witt Jr., SS
3. Vinnie Pasquantino, DH
4. Salvador Perez, C
5. Michael Massey, 2B
6. Hunter Renfroe, RF
7. MJ Melendez, LF
8. Cavan Biggio, 1B
9. Kyle Isbel, CF

Pasquantino was dealing with a Grade 1+ hamstring strain, but he ended up ready for Opening Day, albeit as a designated hitter for precautionary reasons.

Rotation/Closer
1. Cole Ragans, LHP
2. Seth Lugo, RHP
3. Michael Wacha, RHP
4. Michael Lorenzen, RHP
5. Kris Bubic, LHP
CL: Carlos Estévez, RHP

Manager Matt Quatraro has announced that Kris Bubic will open the season in the fifth spot of the rotation, while Daniel Lynch IV made the team as a reliever. Both were competing for a rotation spot, but the Royals are intrigued by what Bubic can do back in the rotation after stepping up in a high-leverage relief role last year, and Lynch will be a multi-inning option for the ¡®pen to begin the year. -- Anne Rogers

TIGERS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Andy Ibáñez, 3B
2. Gleyber Torres, 2B
3. Riley Greene, LF
4. Spencer Torkelson, DH
5. Manuel Margot, RF
6. Colt Keith, 1B
7. Javier Báez, SS
8. Jake Rogers, C
9. Ryan Kreidler, CF

With Matt Vierling out for Opening Day with a right rotator cuff muscle strain and Parker Meadows sidelined with a nerve issue in his upper right arm, Detroit¡¯s lineup became a little trickier at the top. The switch-hitting P¨¦rez could see a jump in playing time during Vierling¡¯s absence.

Rotation/Closer
1. Tarik Skubal, LHP
2. Jack Flaherty, RHP
3. Reese Olson, RHP
4. Jackson Jobe, RHP
5. Casey Mize, RHP
CL: Beau Brieske, RHP

Alex Cobb's right hip inflammation takes him out of play for the start of the season, setting up a battle for the final two spots. -- Jason Beck

TWINS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Matt Wallner, RF
2. Carlos Correa, SS
3. Byron Buxton, CF
4. Trevor Larnach, DH
5. Ryan Jeffers, C
6. Ty France, 1B
7. Willi Castro, 2B
8. Jose Miranda, 3B
9. Harrison Bader, LF

The injuries to Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee make things much more fluid than they had previously seemed, and several Twins players will play multiple positions early in the season.

Rotation/Closer
1. Pablo López, RHP
2. Joe Ryan, RHP
3. Bailey Ober, RHP
4. Chris Paddack, RHP
5. Simeon Woods Richardson, RHP
CL: Jhoan Duran, RHP

Assuming everyone is healthy, this is a deep and talented group, with some talented youngsters waiting in the wings. -- Matthew Leach

WHITE SOX

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Miguel Vargas, 3B
2. Luis Robert Jr., CF
3. Andrew Benintendi, DH
4. Andrew Vaughn, 1B
5. Austin Slater, RF
6. Lenyn Sosa, 2B
7. Korey Lee, C
8. Jacob Amaya, SS
9. Michael A. Taylor, LF

Benintendi (non-displaced right hand fracture) and Slater (oblique strain) returned to Cactus League action last week and are ready for Opening Day.

Rotation/Closer
1. Sean Burke, RHP
2. Davis Martin, RHP
3. Martín Pérez, LHP
4. Shane Smith, RHP
5. Jonathan Cannon, RHP
CL: TBD

Manager Will Venable has not named a closer and has expressed the idea of not naming a closer even when the season begins. It was believed that Drew Thorpe eventually would be part of the rotation. But the right-hander suffered offseason setbacks recovering from Sept. 7 surgery to shave down a bone spur in his right elbow and will now undergo Tommy John surgery. -- Scott Merkin

AL WEST

ANGELS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Taylor Ward, LF
2. Nolan Schanuel, 1B
3. Mike Trout, RF
4. Jorge Soler, DH
5. Tim Anderson, 2B
6. Luis Rengifo, 3B
7. Logan O'Hoppe, C
8. Jo Adell, CF
9. Kevin Newman, SS

With Yoan Moncada unavailable for Opening Day due to a bruised right thumb, Tim Anderson is earned the start at second base, with Rengifo at third base. With Trout moving to right, the Angels will lean on Adell in center. Shortstop Zach Neto will open the season on the injured list after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder in November.

Rotation/Closer
1. Yusei Kikuchi, LHP
2. Tyler Anderson, LHP
3. José Soriano, RHP
4. Kyle Hendricks, RHP
5. Jack Kochanowicz, RHP
CL: Kenley Jansen, RHP

Kikuchi will start on Opening Day. Lefty Reid Detmers shifts to the bullpen after Kochanowicz claimed the No. 5 starter spot. -- Rhett Bollinger

ASTROS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Jose Altuve, LF
2. Isaac Paredes, 3B
3. Yordan Alvarez, DH
4. Christian Walker, 1B
5. Yainer Diaz, C
6. Jeremy Peña, SS
7. Cam Smith, RF
8. Brendan Rodgers, 2B
9. Jake Meyers, CF

A few months ago, no one could have expected that Altuve would begin the season in left field and top prospect Smith would be in right field, but the Astros desperately needed some offensive punch from the outfield and they hope to get it from two infielders.

Rotation/Closer
1. Framber Valdez, LHP
2. Hunter Brown, RHP
3. Spencer Arrighetti, RHP
4. Ronel Blanco, RHP
5. Hayden Wesneski, RHP
CL: Josh Hader, LHP

Valdez and Brown are an elite 1-2 combination at the top of the rotation, and Blanco and Arrighetti were workhorses last year, but there are some depth concerns with newcomer Wesneski penciled into the fifth spot. -- Brian McTaggart

ATHLETICS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Lawrence Butler, RF
2. Brent Rooker, DH
3. JJ Bleday, CF
4. Shea Langeliers, C
5. Miguel Andujar, LF
6. Tyler Soderstrom, 1B
7. Gio Urshela, 3B
8. Max Muncy, 2B
9. Jacob Wilson, SS

With Rooker now fully recovered from his right forearm injury, the DH spot will likely see somewhat of a rotation between Rooker, Andujar and Seth Brown.

Rotation/Closer
1. Luis Severino, RHP
2. JP Sears, LHP
3. Osvaldo Bido, RHP
4. Jeffrey Springs, LHP
5. Joey Estes, RHP
CL: Mason Miller, RHP

Severino is set to take the mound on Opening Day, while Estes won the competition this spring for the No. 5 spot in the rotation. -- Mart¨ªn Gallegos

MARINERS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Victor Robles, RF
2. Julio Rodríguez, CF
3. Cal Raleigh, C
4. Randy Arozarena, LF
5. Luke Raley, DH
6. Jorge Polanco, 3B
7. Rowdy Tellez, 1B
8. Ryan Bliss, 2B
9. J.P. Crawford, SS

Tellez, who signed a Minors contract with an invite to Spring Training, broke camp with the team after a strong showing in Arizona. He gets the start at first base for the opener.

Rotation/Closer
1. Luis Castillo, RHP
2. Logan Gilbert, RHP
3. Bryce Miller, RHP
4. Bryan Woo, RHP
5. Emerson Hancock, RHP
CL: Andrés Muñoz, RHP

George Kirby has been shut down with right shoulder inflammation and is likely to open the season on the injured list. This opens a spot for Hancock, who posted a 4.75 ERA in 12 starts last season. -- Daniel Kramer

RANGERS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Marcus Semien, 2B
2. Corey Seager, DH
3. Wyatt Langford, LF
4. Adolis García, RF
5. Jake Burger, 1B
6. Josh Jung, 3B
7. Kevin Pillar, CF
8. Kyle Higashioka, C
9. Josh Smith, SS

The Rangers' outfield spots are up for grabs, specifically the center-field spot between Leody Taveras and a recently healthy Evan Carter. That being said, the club has flipped Nathaniel Lowe for Burger at first base and added a designated hitter in Pederson, giving the lineup some much-needed pop.

Rotation/Closer
1. Jacob deGrom, RHP
2. Nathan Eovaldi, RHP
3. Tyler Mahle, RHP
4. Jack Leiter, RHP
5. Kumar Rocker, RHP
CL: Luke Jackson, RHP

Though the Rangers signed veteran southpaw Patrick Corbin to a one-year deal following the injuries of Cody Bradford (elbow soreness) and Jon Gray (wrist fracture), it's still unclear if Corbin will be ready for a full workload come Opening Day. Corbin is not expected to report to Arizona and will join the club in Texas this week, opening the door for rookie pitchers and former Vanderbilt teammates Rocker and Leiter to get the final two rotation spots to start the year. -- Kennedi Landry

NATIONAL LEAGUE EAST

BRAVES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Jurickson Profar, LF
2. Austin Riley, 3B
3. Matt Olson, 1B
4. Marcell Ozuna, DH
5. Ozzie Albies, 2B
6. Michael Harris II, CF
7. Drake Baldwin, C
8. Orlando Arcia, SS
9. Jarred Kelenic, RF

Profar¡¯s plate discipline will create many run-producing opportunities for the middle of the lineup, which will become even more formidable when Ronald Acuña Jr. returns in May.

Rotation/Closer
1. Chris Sale, LHP
2. Reynaldo López, RHP
3. Spencer Schwellenbach, RHP
4. Grant Holmes, RHP
5. AJ Smith-Shawver RHP
CL: Raisel Iglesias, RHP

Last year¡¯s preseason Cy Young Award favorite Spencer Strider could return in late April to join a rotation that includes the eventual winner (Sale), and two of this year¡¯s dark-horse Cy Young candidates (L¨®pez and Schwellenbach). -- Mark Bowman

MARLINS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Xavier Edwards, SS
2. Kyle Stowers, LF
3. Jonah Bride, DH
4. Matt Mervis, 1B
5. Otto Lopez, 2B
6. Griffin Conine, RF
7. Derek Hill, CF
8. Graham Pauley, 3B
9. Nick Fortes, C

Edwards is the indisputable leadoff batter. After him, Miami plans to utilize lefty/righty platoons or matchups against certain pitchers. With the right-handed flamethrower Paul Skenes on the mound and outfielder Jes¨²s S¨¢nchez injured, the Marlins have left-handed corner-outfield bats Conine and Stowers into the lineup. Third baseman Connor Norby is also out, making way for Pauley on Opening Day.

Rotation/Closer
1. Sandy Alcantara, RHP
2. Connor Gillispie, RHP
3. Valente Bellozo, RHP
4. Max Meyer, RHP
5. Cal Quantrill, RHP
CL: Calvin Faucher, RHP

Two spots in the rotation opened up after right-hander Edward Cabrera (blister) and left-hander Ryan Weathers (mild left forearm flexor strain) experienced setbacks late in Spring Training -- Christina De Nicola

METS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Francisco Lindor, SS
2. Juan Soto, RF
3. Pete Alonso, 1B
4. Mark Vientos, 3B
5. Brandon Nimmo, LF
6. Starling Marte, DH
7. Tyrone Taylor, CF
8. Luisangel Acuña, 2B
9. Luis Torrens, C

The Opening Day lineup looks a little different than the Mets¡¯ usual starting nine, since they¡¯re facing a left-hander in Framber Valdez.

Rotation/Closer
1. Clay Holmes, RHP
2. Tylor Megill, RHP
3. Griffin Canning, RHP
4. David Peterson, LHP
5. Kodai Senga, RHP
CL: Edwin Díaz, RHP

With Sean Manaea (right oblique strain) and Frankie Montas (high-grade lat strain) sidelined to start the season, Canning and Peterson will fill the last two rotation spots. The odd man out wound up being Paul Blackburn, who will open the season in the bullpen. -- Anthony DiComo

NATIONALS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. CJ Abrams, SS
2. James Wood, LF
3. Luis García Jr., 2B
4. Josh Bell, DH
5. Nathaniel Lowe, 1B
6. Paul DeJong, 3B
7. Keibert Ruiz, C
8. Dylan Crews, RF
9. Jacob Young, CF

The Nationals, who hit the fewest home runs in the NL last year, added offensive power this winter with Lowe and Bell to hit in the middle of the lineup behind a young top of the order that features Crews and Wood playing in their first full Major League seasons.

Rotation/Closer
1. MacKenzie Gore, LHP
2. Jake Irvin, RHP
3. Michael Soroka, RHP
4. Mitchell Parker, LHP
5. Trevor Williams, RHP
CL: Kyle Finnegan,RHP

The Nationals¡¯ starting depth is deep this season. In the competition for the final spot in the starting rotation, Parker edged out fellow southpaws DJ Herz and Shinnosuke Ogasawara. -- Jessica Camerato

PHILLIES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Trea Turner, SS
2. Bryce Harper, 1B
3. Alec Bohm, 3B
4. Kyle Schwarber, DH
5. J.T. Realmuto, C
6. Max Kepler, LF
7. Nick Castellanos, RF
8. Bryson Stott, 2B
9. Brandon Marsh, CF

Both Turner and Schwarber batted leadoff during Spring Training, but manager Rob Thomson went with Turner for Opening Day.

Rotation/Closer
1. Zack Wheeler, RHP
2. Jesús Luzardo, LHP
3. Aaron Nola, RHP
4. Cristopher Sánchez, LHP
5. Taijuan Walker, RHP
CL: Jordan Romano, RHP

No surprise that Wheeler will start Opening Day. But starting Luzardo in Game 2 and S¨¢nchez in Game 4 splits up the two hard-throwing lefties. It also allows S¨¢nchez to start the home opener. Walker will begin the season in the rotation in place of an injured Ranger Suárez. -- Todd Zolecki

NL CENTRAL

BREWERS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Jackson Chourio, LF
2. Christian Yelich, DH
3. William Contreras, C
4. Rhys Hoskins, 1B
5. Sal Frelick, RF
6. Joey Ortiz, SS
7. Garrett Mitchell, CF
8. Vinny Capra, 3B
9. Brice Turang, 2B

The Brewers figure to see two lefties in the Opening Series in New York, but the lineup should look different against righties, with Turang at the top, Garrett Mitchell in the outfield mix and Oliver Dunn at third base.

Rotation/Closer
1. Freddy Peralta, RHP
2. Nestor Cortes, LHP
3. Aaron Civale, RHP
CL: Trevor Megill, RHP

You read that right, only three starters. Jose Quintana won¡¯t be ready for the first turn through the rotation, and that¡¯s just the start of the challenges here. Tobias Myers, Aaron Ashby and DL Hall all went down with spring injuries, and Brandon Woodruff and Robert Gasser need more time to rehab from surgeries. Swingmen Tyler Alexander, Elvin Rodriguez and Connor Thomas are candidates for spot starts, and rookie Chad Patrick could also help hold things together until the Brewers can get a full rotation in order. -- Adam McCalvy

CARDINALS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Lars Nootbaar, LF
2. Willson Contreras, 1B
3. Brendan Donovan, 2B
4. Nolan Arenado, 3B
5. Alec Burleson, DH
6. Iván Herrera, C
7. Jordan Walker, RF
8. Victor Scott II, CF
9. Masyn Winn, SS

This lineup includes Burleson, who beat out Nolan Gorman and is one of the Cards' best pure hitters. Manager Oliver Marmol has debated using Nootbaar, Donovan, Scott and Winn in the leadoff spot, but he eventually settled on Nootbaar after Winn hit just .080 during Spring Training.

Rotation/Closer
1. Sonny Gray, RHP
2. Andre Pallante, RHP
3. Erick Fedde, RHP
4. Steven Matz, LHP
5. Miles Mikolas, RHP
CL: Ryan Helsley, RHP

The Cards are again right-handed heavy in their rotation, so Matz gets the nod over blossoming right-hander Michael McGreevy to open the season. St. Louis thinks it really found something in Pallante, a reliever-turned-starter who limited foes to three earned runs or fewer in 15 out of 20 starts last season. Can Mikolas and Matz bounce back after consecutive down years? -- John Denton

CUBS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Ian Happ, LF
2. Kyle Tucker, RF
3. Seiya Suzuki, DH
4. Michael Busch, 1B
5. Dansby Swanson, SS
6. Nico Hoerner, 2B
7. Pete Crow-Armstrong, CF
8. Matt Shaw, 3B
9. Miguel Amaya, C

Jon Berti started both games of the Tokyo Series at second base while Hoerner continued to rehab from October forearm surgery back in Arizona, but manager Craig Counsell expects Hoerner to be ready to suit up for the domestic opener. Veteran Justin Turner will get some time at first base, too. Amaya and veteran catcher Carson Kelly will have a timeshare behind the plate.

Rotation/Closer
1. Justin Steele, LHP
2. Jameson Taillon, RHP
3. Shota Imanaga, LHP
4. Matthew Boyd, LHP
5. Ben Brown, RHP
CL: Ryan Pressly, RHP

With Javier Assad (left oblique) on the 15-day IL, the door is open for Ben Brown to claim a rotation job. Colin Rea is also an option. -- Jordan Bastian

PIRATES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Tommy Pham, LF
2. Bryan Reynolds, RF
3. Oneil Cruz, CF
4. Joey Bart, C
5. Andrew McCutchen, DH
6. Nick Gonzales, 2B
7. Endy Rodríguez, 1B
8. Ke'Bryan Hayes, 3B
9. Isiah Kiner-Falefa, SS

The Pirates are going to need production out of the bottom half of their lineup, but they should get a boost in the early portion of the season when Spencer Horwitz returns.

Rotation/Closer
1. Paul Skenes, RHP
2. Mitch Keller, RHP
3. Andrew Heaney, LHP
4. Bailey Falter, LHP
5. Carmen Mlodzinski, RHP
CL: David Bednar, RHP

The Pirates may have the best mix of upside and depth in their starting rotation, especially with top 100 prospects Bubba Chandler and Thomas Harrington waiting in the wings. -- Alex Stumpf

REDS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. TJ Friedl, CF
2. Matt McLain, 2B
3. Elly De La Cruz, SS
4. Gavin Lux LF
5. Jeimer Candelario, 3B
6. Spencer Steer, DH
7. Christian Encarnacion-Strand, 1B
8. Jake Fraley, RF
9. Jose Trevino, C

With the oblique strain injury to catcher and middle-of-the-order hitter Tyler Stephenson, Trevino slots into the bottom of the order. Spencer Steer (right shoulder soreness) was expected to start the season on the injured list, but was able to start on Opening Day.

Rotation/Closer
1. Hunter Greene, RHP
2. Brady Singer, RHP
3. Nick Martinez, RHP
4. Nick Lodolo, LHP
5. Carson Spiers, RHP
CL: TBD

With Andrew Abbott and Rhett Lowder opening on the injured list, and Graham Ashcraft potentially headed to the bullpen, Spiers earned the job with a strong spring. The closer role is up for grabs after Alexis Díaz was diagnosed with left hamstring inflammation. -- Mark Sheldon

NL WEST

D-BACKS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Ketel Marte, 2B
2. Corbin Carroll, RF
3. Lourdes Gurriel Jr., LF
4. Josh Naylor, 1B
5. Gabriel Moreno, C
6. Eugenio Suárez, 3B
7. Randal Grichuk, DH
8. Jake McCarthy, CF
9. Geraldo Perdomo, SS

Manager Torey Lovullo said he is going to be very flexible with his lineups in 2025. That said, look for Carroll to hit leadoff against righties with Marte second, and for the two to flip against lefties, as they are on Opening Day against the Cubs' Justin Steele. Perdomo will likely be a fixture in the No. 9 spot.

Rotation/Closer
1. Zac Gallen, RHP
2. Corbin Burnes, RHP
3. Merrill Kelly, RHP
4. Eduardo Rodriguez, LHP
5. Brandon Pfaadt, RHP
CL: A.J. Puk, LHP / Justin Martinez, RHP

While Pfaadt won the final spot in the rotation, both Jordan Montgomery and Ryne Nelson will also make the Opening Day roster as relievers. Whether Puk or Martinez close will depend on left-right matchups. -- Steve Gilbert

DODGERS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
2. Mookie Betts, SS
3. Teoscar Hernández, RF
4. Freddie Freeman, 1B
5. Tommy Edman, CF
6. Will Smith, C
7. Max Muncy, 3B
8. Miguel Rojas, 2B
9. Andy Pages, LF

Even with a couple of new faces in the mix, this lineup should not look very different from last year's starting nine, led by the Dodgers' three MVPs in the top half.

Rotation/Closer
1. Blake Snell, LHP
2. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, RHP
3. Tyler Glasnow, RHP
4. Roki Sasaki, RHP
5. Dustin May, RHP
CL: Tanner Scott, LHP

Snell and Sasaki are the high-profile additions to this deep group, which will stretch out to a six-man rotation once Ohtani's built up as a starting pitcher. During spring, May had been in competition with Tony Gonsolin -- who hurt his back while lifting weights and will start the season on the IL -- for the fifth spot. -- Sonja Chen

GIANTS

OFFICIAL lineup
1. LaMonte Wade Jr., 1B
2. Willy Adames, SS
3. Jung Hoo Lee, CF
4. Matt Chapman, 3B
5. Heliot Ramos, LF
6. Patrick Bailey, C
7. Wilmer Flores, DH
8. Mike Yastrzemski, RF
9. Tyler Fitzgerald, 2B

Adames should add some much-needed punch after joining the club on a seven-year, $182 million deal, but the Giants are also hoping to get a major boost from the return of Lee, who missed most of his rookie season after suffering a season-ending left shoulder injury last May.

Rotation/Closer
1. Logan Webb, RHP
2. Justin Verlander, RHP
3. Robbie Ray, LHP
4. Jordan Hicks, RHP
5. Kyle Harrison, LHP
CL: Ryan Walker, RHP

After losing Blake Snell to the Dodgers, the Giants will be counting on two other former Cy Young winners -- Ray and Verlander -- to stay healthy and provide stability behind the ultra-durable Webb. -- Maria Guardado

PADRES

OFFICIAL lineup
1. Fernando Tatis Jr., RF
2. Luis Arraez, 1B
3. Manny Machado, 3B
4. Xander Bogaerts, SS
5. Jackson Merrill, CF
6. Yuli Gurriel, DH
7. Jake Cronenworth, 2B
8. Brandon Lockridge, LF
9. Elias Díaz, C

Jason Heyward and Gavin Sheets can be penciled into the lineup most nights (in left field and at DH, respectively). But facing Braves left-hander Chris Sale in the opener, the Padres turn to a pair of righty hitters instead.

Rotation/Closer
1. Michael King, RHP
2. Dylan Cease, RHP
3. Nick Pivetta, RHP
4. Kyle Hart, LHP
5. Randy Vásquez, RHP
CL: Robert Suarez, RHP

Injuries to Yu Darvish and Matt Waldron have left three starters vying for the final two spots in the San Diego rotation. It's been a tight race all spring among Hart, V¨¢squez and Stephen Kolek. -- AJ Cassavell

ROCKIES

Projected lineup
1. Brenton Doyle, CF
2. Ezequiel Tovar, SS
3. Ryan McMahon, 3B
4. Kris Bryant, DH
5. Michael Toglia, 1B
6. Kyle Farmer, 2B
7. Nick Martini, RF
8. Jordan Beck, LF
9. Jacob Stallings, C

To correct an offense that has been startlingly poor considering that Coors Field is home, the Rockies need the top of the lineup to provide patience and speed, Bryant to provide a semblance of what he did in the past with the Cubs, and younger players throughout to continue their growth.

Rotation/Closer
1. Kyle Freeland, LHP
2. Ryan Feltner, RHP
3. Austin Gomber, LHP
4. Germán Márquez, RHP
5. Antonio Senzatela, RHP
CL: Victor Vodnik, RHP

Freeland, M¨¢rquez and Senzatela have started postseason games for this club, but they and others must regain health and production or else a group of prospects -- led by righty Chase Dollander, MLB's No. 25 prospect -- will usher in the next attempt for the Rockies to build a rotation that can sustain winning. -- Thomas Harding
